Southampton Find Out FA Cup Semi Final Opponents Sunday, 21st Mar 2021 18:02 Saints have only had a day to wait to find out who they will face in the FA Cup semi final at Wembley, read on to find out who we have been drawn with.
Saints are only 90 minutes from their first FA Cup final in 18 years and are looking to get some glory out of this season
The games will be played on the weekend of 17th April
Saints will face Leicester City or Manchester United perhaps the best draw they could have hoped for with Favourites Manchester City facing Chelsea
The last semi three years ago saw Saints go down to Chelsea, they never really got into the game, however Charlie Austin had a perfectly good goal ruled out, VAR might well have helped Saints back then.
The semi final back in 2003 was played at Villa Park when Saints defeated Watford

Don’t mind if it’s Leicester or Man U as we owe both after THOSE matches. I remember 1990 when Palace had been spanked 9-0 in the league by Liverpool and went on to win the Semi against them 4-3 in a classic match. 30 years on what chances of replicating that......

You know what, this has to be the first time in absolutely ages (other than that carabow cup game) that we’ve actually got a decent enough chance to win something major! As in the end we know we can beat Leicester and no matter who wins out of Chelsea VS Man City, it’s an FA Cup final and anything can happen in those! So let’s just hope that we can wrap up the league and be hitting 40 points by April the 17th/18th so we can just go for this cup!

Well it’s leicester ,they are a very good side, but if all our first eleven are available we have a chance of beating them. On our day we are a match for anyone. With Walcott and ings fit to play, They will be foolish to under estimate us, we have beaten Liverpool,Everton, arsenal, and drew with Chelsea twice , so we can raise our game to beat the best side in the premiership .the game at Leicester earlier in the season was a close affair at 1.0 until being caught out in last five minutes,When a bad pass from defence let Leicester in for their second which flattered them.so let’s go there in a positive mood , yes we can do this.

Personally I would’ve preferred Chelsea because, although they don’t concede many goals, they don’t ever get away from the opposition either because they don’t score many meaning you are always in with a chance. But I will take Leicester & there’s every chance Rodgers’ mouth will run off by saying the wrong thing to embellish his already over inflated ego and love of himself and there may end up being comments that Ralph can use to help him with his team talk on the day!

Ok draw! There is a player by the way in that Leicester team, who does not deserve playing in tha FA cup final in my view. Who kicked down Virgil from behind with absolutely no chance of getting the ball when we were 3-0 up at home against Leicester with ten minutes to go in the 16/17 season - which meant our central defenders in our League cup semi final and final in 2017 was Stephens & Yoshida, Virgil being sidelined for several months.... Jamie *sshole Vardy. We have to beat Leicester, and I believe we can. COYS!

Blogs 31 bloggersKnees-up Mother Brown #19 by wessex_exile February, and the U’s enter the most pivotal month of the season. Six games in just four weeks, with four of them against sides also in the bottom six. By March we should be either well clear of danger, or even deeper in the sh*t. With Danny Cowley’s U’s still unbeaten, and looking stronger game on game, I’m sure it’ll be the former, but first we have to do our bit to consign Steve ‘Sour Grapes’ Cotterill’s FGR back to non-league. After our shambolic 5-0 defeat at New Lawn, nothing would give me greater pleasure, even if it meant losing one of my closest awaydays in the process. What’s the excuse going to be today Steve – shocking pitch, faking head injuries, Mexican banditry or some other bit of sour-grapery bullsh*t? Queens Park Rangers Polls |
