Kids shine as Onuoha and Mackie bid farewell - Report
at 13:03:58

Thanks for all your reports Clive - and to the occasional stand-ins. I always look forward to reading them whether I have been at the match or not. Your writing is entertaining, well-informed and you tell it like it is. Many national newspapers could do with a talent like yours and I say that as a journalist of 40 years standing.
Oh and I thought Chair was the stand out best player and also noted the size of his rear end, which actually gives him a low centre of gravity, v useful for a winger (if that is what he is).
Unlike last year, can't wait for the new season. Full of promise but Fernandes is right to say there are lots of hard decisions ahead, not least handing out some longer term contracts to the kids.

QPR perseverance eventually downs Bolton — Report
at 16:15:22

I think you are being a bit harsh Andy. First, the game was entertaining, with 22 shots and quite a few good moves. Secondly, while Smith could easily have had a hat-trick in the first half alone, he deserves credit for getting in the right position so often which is what creates those chances. He will still improve - his goal was a corker. Thirdly, given how negatively Bolton played, it was always going to be difficult to break them down. But we did and we won comfortably.
Where I totally agree is that we now need to begin to give starts to the youngsters. Smyth has had one, and surely deserves a place at Sheffield tomorrow ahead of Washington. However, while it would be great to see Eze start, he is a bit more difficult to fit in as he is an attacking midfielder rather than a striker.

Ngbakoto sparks QPR comeback - Report

Clive...you missed the fact that it was a piece of trickery by Morrison that drew the foul that led to the 2nd goal. And his fouls wasted a lot of time..

QPR defenders the April Fools as Boro continue Sky curse - report
at 12:40:47

The key point is that we lack a leader on the pitch. Nedum seems like a very nice and measured bloked, but we need a Hill, or a Derry or indeed a Barton to gee people up and organise the defence when there is risk of a quick corner being taken.
Faurlin actually had a good first half, but faded - but there were v good performances by Poulter and Henry as well as Cherry. Poulter seems to improve game by game

Hard work, strong defence, toothless attack — Knee jerks
at 15:54:35

Sandro's second name is, oddly, Raniere. Excellent summary Antti. I think the idea is to put on Austin to provide extra pressure when the defence is tiring, given that he obviously cannot at the mo play 90 mins - worked for both previous games

QPR and Leicester bring Championship farce to top flight - report
at 10:19:29

London Pride is correct, it was Joey who took the second corner. And I agree with timcocking that the report was a bit too mocking. This was redblooded stuff, entertaining from start to finish. I could not understand why Leicester fans on their noticeboard were so negative - they had great pace and a goalkeeper who could shoot for goal every time he has the ball...

Unlikely hero ends QPR’s away day blues — full match report

Oddly, best favour Mason did was not to send off Marin in the first five minutes. If we had, our game plan would have been disrupted; we might have attacked more and paid the price.

Mackie’s best efforts in vain as Villa game slips away — full match report
at 07:41:16

You are getting carried away Clive. There has now been a run of three improved performances, a win or two would change the whole situation. The basic structure of the team looks sound, it is relatively stable and there is much to build on. We have a run of winnable games, and we have actually played most of the really hell ones - Manchesters away, arsenal and tottenham away - and so there is barely a game we could not get a result from. But then I am a half cup full man...

...at home and we have a better team now. There is no reason why we cant get a point but have to start with right attitude. The stats are in our favour - bottom v top often produc es odd result and their home run/our away run must both be broken at some time

High stakes and frayed nerves as QPR host Spurs showdown — full match preview

It's the hope that hurts so much. At 2 - 0 down against Liverpool with 15 minutes to go, it was all over. And now with games against three of the top five, we should have given up but beign QPR we haven't. Squeaky bum time goes nowhere near describing it - more like the feeling after eating a prawn curry in a Goan beach hut...

Much improved QPR hold in form Everton — full match report
at 10:58:30

It is amazing that our best performance have generally come when there is a strong group of the Championship players. Hill and Derry, the two old stagers, were both excellent on Saturday, and Taraabt and Buzz were good too. One good sign from the newcomers, though, in addition to Zamora's good performance, was, as noted above, the growing confidence of Onouha who clearly was short of match practice in the early days. Traore looks a better option than Taiwo, to me, too.

Swansea’s illusion of grandeur punctured by Mackie — full match report

One point you missed, Clive - eight of the team were out Championship side, with only additions being the 2 fullbacks and Joey. Suggests that it is not necessarily new signing that do the job, but the right attitude. Also, one of your betes noires, Fitz Hall, had a stormer.

Chelsea see red as QPR record famous victory — full match report

Actually Foy's best moment and which showed that he was a good ref, was when he blew up when Mata slipped over and handled the ball, when in fact Derry had got away and there was a 3 v 2 situation. He realised he had blown up too quickly and waved his hands in the air as an apology. Not something you see from the ref and shows great confidence and understanding.
