And yet… over four months into the season and he has singularly only, played the one pass, twice in fact, that kicks our dormant centre forward into life. Two exquisite passes that an abundance of midfielders ahead of him seem simply unable to recognise or play despite 18 games of huffing and puffing. He’s not had the best start but that level of vision shouldn’t be discarded easily. |

Definitely our best performance this season, first time I’ve thought maybe we can still belong in this league. I’d say our best performances have been Palace, Sunderland and Watford. What that seems to suggest is, come at us and the whole team will give you a game, sit back and the entire team are clueless. Given the overwhelming numbers that form the latter in this league, unless Marti can train that into them, we will be in trouble. |

How did it originate, did it start after his second at Cardiff or a sort of reference to his escapades in the first 19 games? I’m hoping it’s not butchered from a chant at another club (especially ‘them’), just I haven’t the foggiest. |

Happy with the way we came away with a point. If Ashby can play midfield, I’d play him, has a proper eye for a forward pass. |

To be fair, if the game was played without goalposts, we’d be quite a reasonable team |

Sky just showed head shots of the players as they walked into Vicarage Road. Had a double take thinking who’s the tennis player in the middle of them. Took me a few seconds to realise it’s Madsen. |

I thought, well I know, this season has been a total disaster, but for you to then tell me we are 4 points better off at this stage than last seasons protagonists! How do we put ourselves through this? Scenario spot on. Really we simply aren’t good enough to stay up but then you look around some of the dross in this league and it might take only minimal change in personnel to somehow get out of this mess. The killer would be, if the spine of the team finally get fit enough to take on the second half of the season, only to find out that they’ve all finally succumbed to their incessant injuries and a la Willock turn out to be shadows of their former selves. That would really round off this season. |

Has to be Clive Allen hattrick on his debut v Coventry. |

Agree totally. That tackle freed up Ashby (I think) to make what seemed the only real positive pass out of midfield in the whole night. We seem afraid to spread the game out, constantly making short passes that nearly always result in us getting dispossessed but at the same time mean we stay defensively sound. Fair enough in games like Cardiff who looked a carbon copy home side as us, but we’ve got to learn to tackle and more importantly have players who are actually ready to capitalise on that. Madsen, that means you. Great result but there’s too many strollers in the middle of the park. |

Marti involved in first team recruitment shocker. Thanks for letting us in on your conversation with Lee Hoos, hopefully we’ll accept now that all that’s wrong with this team doesn’t just fall on one man. |

Yes he’s good. Wasn’t injured when he went off? |
