Every party now has career politicians- few who are ordinary men or women who have worked away from the Westminster bubble and are in touch with reality . |
| Forum Reply | Who is going to be the new manager? at 12:02 2 Feb 2025
One thing is imperative - no more gambles on PowerPoint presentations - get someone in who has :- 1. Played at a decent to high level and been relatively successful. 2. Has a good track record coaching and developing players. 3. Has more than one tactic up his sleeve., can change a game or at least respond to a change from the opposing manager. 4. Is reknowned for a high tempo , pacy passing game. Not just passing around the back four until the opposition drop dead from boredom. 5. Have a look at foreign leagues - Europe or South America. Main thing is that Andy Coleman gets some good advice before proceeding. |

I think the opposite. If we were doing well and he wasn’t leaving any a good motivational captain whom led by example I’d think it harsh. The reality is that he’s been the most anonymous captain I’ve ever seen at the club with a seemingly blue eyed compliant boy complex for every manager who has taken the reins. We’ve all seen those kinds of people in our workplace- it’s so unhealthy. We didn’t do well yesterday but let’s hope a couple of new players can list the mood. His wife says they wanted to stay - I theorised that it was the epitome of a comfort zone for him and that was reflected on the pitch - do just enough to get by and enjoy his semi retirement. Thankfully someone who matters has called him out for it and he’s had a tantrum, thrown his toys out and left. I predict Coventry fans will see an initial spurt of energy but after a while he’ll be back to his usual. If he starts tearing up trees there we’ve all been taken for a ride by him. I think the first scenario is the most likely though. |

It’s obvious by that statement that you can’t. All bar one massive point - a midfielder even on loan is desperately needed. If we can get Low in it would be a massive bonus. The more people go on about a new striker the less they realise that the main problem still wouldn’t be addressed- no midfield creativity. At least we know that it wasn’t Grimes holding Fulton back anymore. |

Not many were objecting at the time or even December when they were chanting his name in the east. You were probably one of them. I certainly wasn’t! As for Coleman he does have a love and dedication for our club but I agree he needs advice. He has started sourcing players from abroad - maybe there’s a decent coach on the continent somewhere that would fancy the challenge. |

Well there was no choice. If we wanted this calibre of player this is what was needed. Leave it til summer and he’s gone to a bigger club. End of story |

Do you think it’s all a bit South East Wales centric? The selection process I mean? |

Correction - a limp fraudulent copy and paste manager with mid table level players who don’t want to play for him anymore. |

Who was their captain before? The invisible man???? |

I heard a rumour that the deal fell through as Man City had moved the goalposts?? |

Could be some truth in that. I’ve had the feeling he thought himself on another level to the rest, in part down to idiot fans proclaiming him to be the new Messi . Other midfielders at the club must harbour some ill feeling toward him for getting picked every game as captain and failing to live up to his responsibilities. I’m over the moon he’s going and will open my bottle of bubbly tonight ! |

I just watched the reel. You tube can overhype players but…….. This lad is just what we need. I’d play him in between Franco and Cullen as our link player, box to box midfielder. His technical ability is excellent, be it close control , short or long passing he is very good. He carrries the ball between the lines - he will cause havoc whilst running at opposition midfields and defences and this will open up huge gaps in defences which our normal static and barely offensive play cannot. ALL of our players will benefit from him because he will keep us on the front foot , allowing our defenders not to keep the ball dangerously when there is no option to take the ball off them. Our wingers will finally be able to exploit their pace against disorganized and retreating defences allowing them to get in behind and supply Cullen and Vipotnik. This, if it comes off (and he is as effective as the ten minute reel) could be one of our most significant transfers in the last 8-10 years. It will herald a new far more aggressive Swansea City style that fans have been crying out for. His corner taking will be a breath of fresh air too. I hope we get him and don’t mess about - if he were British he’d be worth twice that and hopefully (if he does well) will leave with a much bigger price tag. Please let’s get this done 🙏 |

Absolutely correct. Franco is the Grimes replacement. This lad will be a kind of box to box attacking midfielder who will hopefully gel with Cullen and our wingers. Great if he can carry the ball too. |
