I do not know that much about the guy in question but I saw the game and Australia were poor. To compare their style to any Dutch team let alone the 70's one is laughable. And the goals they scored were indeed as a result of pub league standard defending. The Aussies have lost to the only ( injury hit ) half decent side they have met so far and Tim Cahill is still their most effective player operating as a striker. Sums up the general standard of the Competition In my opinion. |

Were we crap at Spurs because Harry waved to their fans? Were we crap at Utd because Rio accepted an award? I think it might just go a bit deeper than that and in my opinion neither event had any bearing whatsoever on the performance or the result. I have seen us battered more than enough times away from home to understand peoples frustrations but there was more than enough to complain about in both games to have to seek out irrelevancies to moan about. |
| Forum Reply | IF we win tomorrow, please don't invade to pitch... at 04:12 12 May 2014
I havn't been on the pitch since '76 as a 15 year old but I don't see it as a big problem. Just enjoy the moment if it happens. The pitch will be cleared in 10 minutes and the team can still come out. I just wish I had the decision to invade or not to make. As it is I will be in my front room waking the house up at 5am if we do it. I very nearly came back but with a final to ( hopefully ) come back for and a paid up trip to Brazil for the world cup in a months time it was just too much. I came back for the Oldham games ( and again for the final ) and I am just gutted I won't be there so just be thankful and enjoy it ! COYRS ! |

Mel, We met once ( outside the Goldhawk drunk after the Leeds promotion party, so you won't remember ) but I met your dad a few times. All my family used to sit behind him in the South Africa Rd and my dad, mum and two brothers knew him well and we were all sad to learn of his passing. My older brother Rob tells a story about your dad and he still says it is the funniest thing he has heard at the Rangers. In the dark old days of league one and administration Rangers were putting in yet another inept performance and were losing comfortably. A really quiet bloke who sat near your dad and always suffered in silence finally broke when Matthew Rose hacked a ball into touch under no pressure whatsoever. He jumped up to leave and shouted out " Rose , you are awful ". Without missing a beat your dad replied " but we like you " .Cue laughter all round and a brief respite from the frustration. ( you have to be of a certain age to get that joke ) RIP John and condolences from the Rowe family. |

Clive, I respect your opinions on Rangers and generally agree with a lot of what you say but i think you are being somewhat hypocritical on this occasion. You aggressively assert your right to yell abuse at the people you perceive to be most to blame for our miserable performances but think it is disgusting when others do the same to Tom Carroll who presumably they perceive to be one of the more culpable individuals.Different opinions but similar behaviour. Also, Benayoun was a very poor signing but what exactly has he done to deserve the character assassination in your report ? He signed the contract he was offered and plays when the manager tells him to. He has been rubbish but , so have most of the others, and I don't see the complete lack of effort and commitment that was obviously apparent with Bosingwa who you compare him to. |
| Forum Reply | What is you best ever away game following QPR ? at 07:54 28 Feb 2013
A couple for the old gits among us. Derby 1 QPR 5 (75/76) Stan hat trick . Derby's first home game after being crowned champions the season before. Mclintock and Webb both injured so we had two debutants at centre back ( Abbott and Tagg ). Mansfield 0 QPR 7 ( 66/67) Don't remember as much about this one but I know we stood on the half way line and my Dad had me on his shoulders jumping around when we went 7 nil up. Villa 1 QPR 2 (67/68) Promoted to Division 1 for the first time. Loads of Rangers on the pitch at the final whistle including my cousin who lost a shoe. Dad wouldn't let me on because I was too young ! |

Sudbury. That Gerry Francis goal at Spurs is the best I have ever seen by a Rangers player but I never see it mentioned in threads like this. Probably because there is no TV footage of it as far as I can tell. I was beginning to think I imagined it ! |

I completely agree that we are heavily reliant on Adel for creativity and this is a huge potential problem but this has been the case all season. For me,losing Ale changes nothing in this regard. When was the last time he created a chance ? Spurs away for BZ is the last one I can recall.Granero has been disappointing but I think he is more likely to create chances than Ale. |

I like Ale and he would certainly help with ball retention but he is the most unathletic premier league midfield player I have ever seen.Painfully slow and very easily brushed off the ball when he does manage to track runners. Even before his injury midfield players just ran past him as if he wasn't there. He is particularly vulnerable when we play the teams around us as it is more of a battle and he gets bullied. West Ham ran rings around him at HQ as did Southampton when he was pulled off at half time. If we are going to play him it has to be against less physical teams and never in a 4 4 2 in my opinion. |

Inflation was at 10 % and on a downward curve when Thatcher came to power. It peaked at 22% during her leadership and only got back down to 10% in her final days. Just another of many myths about what a great PM she was. |

My daughter Maria also won a trip. The whole family ( 8 of us ) were going to the KK and KL games anyway. Hope to see you there. |
