The new site is lush, like. You can see when people are replying; the England match threads were bloody ace for that reason. You could see other people were involved. Replies appear without a refresh; we have killed F5.
It's lively. It's lovely. I can understand the unique enticements of a Portsmouth service station though. I understand your dilemma :D |

Drinks still happen, yes.
They were a lot of fun in the Koeman era.
Wembley appearances were grand, but over two fruitless goes, I think we all agreed that it would be fun to go to London and get pissed when Saints had no chance of pissing us off.
Regardless, give us a visit, if only if you want to have a go at a lefty.
We've made that easier than ever now. |

Momentum is three years old, so I'm at a loss to explain how they marched in the 1990s, or even if some of them did, how that reconciles itself with the fact that a good deal of Momentum wasn't even born then.
If you want to have a debate about growing extremist Islamic attitudes in the 1990s, look at Major and Blair, both of whom tolerated extremists setting up shop in London, a fact which incensed French authorities in 1995 when Algerian extremists carried out the Paris Metro bombings, and earned our capital the tagline "Londonistan".
History is interesting, isn't it? |

I choose my time rather sparingly on the UI these days, but I thought I'd weigh in on this, especially given the recent events on the Gazan border.
My experience of the Labour Party is that, if anything, it is a bit of a right on contest. If one cares to, one can look further left and magnify that. I have no doubt that if openly racist views of any kind were voiced at a CLP meeting, the perpetrator would be bundled on the spot and quickly ejected from the party.
It is the last place I would expect to find racism of any kind.
So how is it that it is attracting these charges? Well, simply, the definition of anti-semitism has changed. It used to mean hating Jewish folk for being Jewish folk, just like any other form of racism.
Over time, the definition has effectively changed to any criticism of the pro-Zionist, present incarnation of the Israeli government. Netanyahu is on record as saying that anyone that supports the BDS movement is an anti-Semite, and yet a similar boycotting strategy was praised when used against South Africa.
Some of the most powerful and compelling advocates for Palestinian rights are Jewish Israeli citizens,and fully support BDS. Where does that put them with Netanyahu's description?
The provable facts are that Israel operates a powerful political lobby abroad, instituted in organisations like Conservative Friends of Israel or Labour Friends of Israel, which pretend to be impartial but have a record of being apologists for disproportionate Israeli aggression.
The narrative, that the Labour Party, a party perceived to be on the side of the immigrants by plenty of people I've doorstepped, is suddenly now racist, is bollocks. |

On your second point, I think the thought makes you a little happier, but deep down you don't really believe it.
It's basically the toss up between your imagination and your lying eyes.
When was the last time you walked down London Road? Will you think any differently when you see homeless people in the suburbs?
If the old maxim is true, and a society is only as strong as its weakest inhabitants, what does it say about the UK when homelessness has doubled in seven years? |

Yeah, but it takes all sorts. I love MLG. The bastard beat me quite soundly at Civ5, but was a gentleman throughout. I can imagine Del, in a hypothetical and highly unlikely scenario, saying "eat Hoplite, you bastard".
My dividing line for peeps on the Internet is "do they mean to cause harm or not?". I'd place neither Del nor MLG in that category.
There are plenty of people in the "cause harm" category. This ain't a sight on the posters of the UI, btw. Whatever you are, you're all pretty up front about what you are.
The best harm causers are those that seem genuine, or clued up.
Verbal is an absolute classic. So quick to jump. There was a period in which Del, on his Turkish alter-ego, rocked a Papa Lazarou avatar for about six months.
Verbs, presumably not up on his League of Gentlemen, went apeshit accusing Del of being a black and white minstrel.
I eventually, publicly, told him to look Papa Lazarou up. |

I write computer programs for a living. MLG wouldn't be anywhere near the top of my scale.
Mind you, I have worked with people that know all of the birthdays of the Star Trek original crew, character and actor :D |

Quite a few clubs opened from 6am-1pm, catering for the still high crowd.
I was chatting to someone at 5:30am on a Sunday morning, who seemed relatively down compared to the pan-lid pupil congregation. I asked him why.

The costs you quote are exceptionally high, which seem pretty obvious when you see all the extras. Helicopters generally aren't what festival goers use for transport.
Glamping is as "cheap" as £529. That's the Pop Up Motel, pitch your own, two people.
Per person, it's even cheaper. Those posh Tipis that Lily Allen stays in? £150 per person. |
