Out of possession evolution under Ainsworth — Analysis
at 21:49:15

Great analysis thanks, a 4 man midfield does need to be very fit, in some of the teams I managed we used to halve the pitch off out of possession as long as we could get pressure on the ball, which meant the wide midfield player on the opposite side to where the ball was would effectively come inside to about half the width of the pitch to allow the other 3 midfielders to either create an overload or match up to a 3 man midfield, you need to be very fit though as it meant your wide midfield players were covering inside a lot more rather than just going up and down the pitch.
If I was lucky enough to have wide midfielders who could operate as full backs they would swap over during the game to share the workload.

Fantastic Clive, back to your best, this club can take you to places you don’t want to go but just at the event horizon you experience some kind of nirvana moment. Pleased you got to experience that, happy days!

Team with plan v team with vague idea — Report
at 18:18:43

Great report again Clive thanks.
i can't believe how JFH thinks that these tactics are helping our club, I mean there is a general understanding that we are in a rebuilding phase and that may take a few years, but surely JFH needs to develop the team with better game understanding than what has been served up over the last year?

Same time next year then — Report

It's a good job the FA don't award co-efficient points for the cup - with our record we would be forced to enter in the qualifying rounds! Mind you we might be able to actually win a game if we entered the competition earlier.

Phillips' wonder strike sugars bitter pill — report
at 18:20:57

Great report again.
Yet another poor away performance which has been the only consistent theme for a number of seasons.
I can't wait until we can clear the decks and start recruiting hungry players who believe QPR are a step up.

Unheeded warnings lead to heart-breaking late winner — report
at 21:52:08

Mane was a threat all afternoon, I felt sorry for Clint who did his best against him and Ellia. Even though Saints seemed to have good possession their front 3 gave them such a cutting edge, which we couldn't replicate. Pelle held things up and the other 2 were getting in behind constantly, and didn't just run in straight lines. Their angled runs and ability to switch flanks caused us problems.
I hope that somehow we can find the right combination up front to score more goals because we need at least 1 or 2 goals each game to get any sort of result.

Ways to lose away games, number 11 in the series - report
at 13:23:52

Last year I saw Trevor Sinclair on that Sky fantasy football program, he was asked about his time at West Ham particularly under Harry.
He said that they just played off the cuff, no real tactics, which is what we're seeing week in week out.
Problem is that I believe the majority of players now seem to need to be coached or at least expect it. Add in the lack of pace we have in the team and a few players who seem to have limitations in technique and current form, and we have a one way ticket back to the championship.
Question is does Harry have it in his make up to change his approach as I don't think TF will make a managerial change.

A horribly familiar sinking feeling — report
at 11:31:22

Pretty honest report Clive.
It was a complete waste of 2 x £37 tickets and the time spent driving there and back for me.
Dunne was poor and deserved a 2.
Remy wasn't much better but probably shaded Dunne because he stayed on the pitch!
Although when Zamora came on Remy seemed more comfortable on the left and got a bit more of the ball. He probably was relieved that he didn't have Kaboul smashing into him, he really doesn't look up to much at the moment. Perhaps he's still feeling sorry for himself about not geting that Liverpool move.
Zamora and Onuoha seemed to add some backbone and strength to our team when they came on, but our defensive shape was all over the place.
The 4th goal was shameful, Rose got away from Onuoha but the cover provided by Rio and Traore was terrible, we were wide open.
The whole team performance was awful but when you work out that Rio, Caulker, Mutch, Fer, Isla and Remy weren't here last season and Matt Phillips only just coming back from injury the sum of all of those negatives seemed to surface in the game.
There should be some improvement in alot of these players if only in terms of fitness, but we need a better plan / system for these away games, otherwise it's going to be very painful.
On top of all the new faces throw in a 3-5-2 system and it's going to take plenty of coaching hours on the training pitch to get this right, plus I don't think Harry has worked out his most effective 10 outfield players, cue more last minute transfer activity, with maybe a few going out on loan, because I can't see Traore and Dunne adding anything positive to the team.
