| News Comment | Late Routledge winner gives Hoofroyd the blues - full match report at 13:39:04
Coventry Season Ticket Holder here. Interesting review, obviously written through QPR tinted glasses so here's my response with my CCFC tinted glasses on. Before I go into detail I think it was clear the better team won at the weekend, however I don't think it was as one sided as this review suggests. There have been suggestions that had it not been for Westwood / Poor finishing it would have been a landslide victory however on the flip side had Eastwood, Jutkiewicz or McSheffrey taken any of their chances when it was 1-0 and 1-1 then Coventry could have taken all 3 points. The difference between the 2 teams were Routledge and Taarabt - players that simply shouldn't be playing at this level and thus emphasises QPRs financial class. Your winning goal was fit to win any Champions League game let alone Championship. Shaun Derry played well but there are many players who do a similar job in the Championship: Olfyinjana, Savage, Carsley etc You ask whether it's enjoyable watching CCFC this season. It is, we might not play the most attractive football but it's effective and if it gets us back to the Premier League will anyone care? No. We have actually played some excellent football this season, ironically if you look at the highlights of our game before this one, which was against Sheffield Utd we drew 0-0 and we were superb. Only Steve Simonsen and our crossbar to blame for us not scoring. I also remember us playing very well against you lot at the Ricoh Arena - 2 headers cleared off the line and Paddy Kenny making some excellent saves. Just my thoughts, all the best and enjoy the Premiership when you inevitably make it. |
