Southampton At Newcastle United The Verdict
at 10:59:14

The reason social media was filled with anti RH narrative was because his football had become turgid, one dimensional and lacked any different tactical approach - I see little point in trying to come up with an excuse to make him the next coming. SR got it hopelessly wrong in his replacement, and paid over the top for unproven (albeit some with potential) talent under the wrong type of coach. RS has proven to be further out of his depth, but it is as always the cheapest option for us.

We were never going to beat Newcastle, a well drilled, fit, organised team looking to improve, so let’s embrace relegation, reset, and go again.

Southampton V Nottingham Forest The Verdict
at 11:44:34

Agree with the majority Nick, but I’d argue that we also had very little ‘effort’ to go with the complete lack of tactics, set-up, plan, formation and bizarre selection and substitutions. Also getting on the refs back is pointless, we were just as bad as Forest, and infact we should utilise it more to try and get more from it as JWP seems to be our only method of getting the ball near the opposition goal.

It’s difficult to see where we go from here, the players weren’t responding under RH, arguably we’ve got even worse under the current clown, but who is out there that would want to join a very soon championship bound calamity?…

Saints Transfer Window ! Good Or Bad
at 14:07:49

The Southampton Way - be absolutely clear about what we need, then get rid of more than what we get in and completely disregard our initial requirements. Still only a (hopefully not, but would anyone count against) couple of defeats/injuries away from being dragged back in, but we dont seem to learn.

Saints At Newcastle United The Verdict

Redmond offers a threat, fine he may not always score or might appear to take the difficult pass when a simple will do, but what he does offer is a quick break and his pace is part of counter attack tactic - who else would you suggests replaces him?

The defence has been crap for years, and every transfer window we all wait for the club to sign someone that we've a. heard of and b. will actually do the job they have been signed for, it just appears that those judgements are incorrect - Vestergard cant jump and has the turning circle of the QE2, and Danso for whatever reason cant seem to get into RH's team selection.

Its very simple, a fundamental almost - if you DON'T concede then you cant lose.

Absolutely ******* Disgraceful
at 11:00:33

VAR is not to blame FFS, if it had been a Leicester player doing that and getting away with we would have been screaming blue murder, it was a red card all day long, get over it. I dont honestly think it would've changed anything, Bertrand has been playing at 60% all season anyway!!.

Huge rebuild from top down is required, PEH and his "really sorry, so embarrassing" interviews are becoming such a regular feature even he must not believe a word of it anymore, squad full of second rate has beens and those that never will be, on huge over inflated contracts, the majority of which were given by a bloke who is now laughing his ass off up at the FA.

Relegation, and the restructure of the club cant come soon enough, who the actual f*ck would sign for us in January at present?

Benali Says It's About The Right Decisions Not Money !
at 09:59:59

The absolute simplest solution is a wage cap - some form of tiered system where a club can only pay a certain number of the squad a pre-arranged amount.

It then comes down to who you want to play for rather than who can pay you the most.

Clearly this will never work as the modern day footballer is an absolute mentalist who thinks being paid 6 figures a week is the norm.

I cant believe we are still moaning and whining about referees and what should/could/might have happened?! Bottom line is that firstly it levels itself over the course of a season and secondly are we really that pathetic that we are reliant on what ifs?

We played relatively well (annoyingly against a high level of opposition - maybe some were putting themselves in the shop window so to speak (only my opinion)) but the same defensive frailties were present and if we hadn't scored 2 cracking goals the score line would have still been a fair representation of the match.

One Focus And One Focus Only For Fulham Game
at 15:35:41

Nick, give it a rest, the whole trying to get everyone to buy tickets theme is boring as f*ck - how many times does it need to be spelt out to you that people have other things to do other than spend their well earn't money on watching our woefully under performing, lack of goal scoring forwards and fundamentally inept leaking goals defence? I appreciate your yet again trying to drum up some support for a game that (if we honest) 99% fans know we 'should' and must win, but, inevitably, we will cock it up with Stephens more than likely involved in the game changing moment.

It no longer negativity, its no longer lacking support or faith, its called realism. Just because you don't agree with it, doesn't mean its wrong.

Saints V Newcastle United The Preview

All sound comments Nick until Newcastle dick us and we fall into the relegation zone. Of course we 'should' beat them, and of course they are playing terribly at the moment, but given our current style of not turning up for matches that are winnable and then coming on here gobbing off about conceding another late goal would it really surprise anyone if we didn't turn up? As usual we will run out of steam and watch as some dwarf nods in an 87 min winner.

Saints V Liverpool The Verdict
at 10:53:31

As much as i normally agree with a lot of your reports/comments, this one i cant, for several different reasons:

1. What attacking substitutions?? Long? a bloke who is really good at running about and being a pain in the ass, but is to goals what Forster is to catching crosses.

Davis - slowly but surely getting more and more less mobile and unreliable.

Boufal - still as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

Gabbi, sat on the bench wondering how his career has suddenly stalled - crazy.

2. The manager didn't try and win the game at all! blatantly obvious that 0-2 was damage limitation and he was happy with that.

3. Whilst it isn't a comparison to the 90's it is, if anything, more of a let down - back then we really were 'little old Southampton', now we are a team that were expected to push and achieve, all we have done is sell and not regroup, and flounder with cheap affordable managers whop are happy to say yes and not rock the boat.

4. Fans will always moan - given the fact that this level of performance and the inept tactics have been happening ALL season can you blame them? you can only get behind something that wants to be driven forward, all the current squad want to do is collect another weeks worth of £££££'s and buy another Bentley.

Crap performance, crap tactics, crap ambition, crap manager.
