More worried about Celar than Madsen and that's not saying much about either of them. A long cold hard winter is upon us! |

For a tenth birthday treat in October 1973 my Dad took me to QPR v Arsenal at Loftus Road. In those early years I was an Arsenal fan, but Dad was QPR. I had never seen Arsenal at a live game but had previously been to QPR. If I remember QPR much the better team and beat Arsenal 2-0. After the game Dad took me to White City Stadium for a night of dog racing, great day out for a 10 year old. Supported Arsenal for a couple more years before transferring my allegiance to QPR in 1975. |

I hope Marti can get us going and we stay up. Either way, stay up or go down can't see him staying next season, unless by some miracle we make a dramatic surge up the table into a top half position. If we do drop then we need a totally different dynamic in League 1 anyway. Warburton I think would be perfect to start the re-build, although as mentioned by others he has probably burned his bridges with the owners, a change of ownership and you never know. Never say never to going back especially if the circumstances are right. |

This could be the answer, but with our lot they probably can't understand the signals. |

Wembley is in NW London, brought up there for the first 3 years of my life. |

| Forum Thread | Jordan Rhodes - Blackpool at 16:01 16 Nov 2024
Just watching Blackpool v Northampton on Sky + and seeing even at 34, Jordan Rhodes still got pace, lays ball on well and proper centre forward. Blackpool signed him on a free from Huddersfield after being on loan, scored 15 for Blackpool last season, why can't we really be looking at experienced pros like this, also Northampton have Martin Waghorn on the bench again a decent striker at Championship level only signed for them a couple of weeks back after being released by Derby end of last season. |
| Forum Reply | Ben Doak - Cifuentes Tactics & Team Set Up at 12:14 16 Nov 2024
Agree we are a weak team and have been for quite a while. Against Boro, Doak was a class act and tearing Santos to pieces. Regardless of whether Santos was played out of position I have seen nothing to suggest he is a player of the strength and quality needed at Championship level. Personally think we are a bit of a team where throw mud at the wall and hope it sticks, it seems that philosophy runs right through the club. [Post edited 16 Nov 12:15]

I really liked Mark Warburton as our manager, it has all gone downhill since he and Eustace left. For all the politics at play moving Eustace to manager and Warburton to DoF may have been far too extreme for QPR and our further descent into mediocrity, far too many agendas at play at Loftus Road no doubt. |

We have a goal blackout every home game in the Loft End, especially from our beloved Rsss, it's like a goal desert down our end, unless you are the away team. Be interesting (maybe not) the number of goals for and against at the Loft End in last 2 seasons, expect it will be grim reading. |
| Forum Reply | MC has got to go at 13:02 12 Nov 2024
I don't see the point in sacking Marti, we might as well continue until end of the season and see what happens. The team is so poor and lacking quality at this level that whoever comes in won't turn this lot. This all reminds me of Ipswich of a few seasons back, Mick McCarthy became a lame duck manager and they just faded into League 1. The writing has been on the wall for the last 2 seasons we can't compete in the Championship, the dynamics of our team just does not work at this level. Think even if we survive will it be better next season who knows, standards are low. League 1 won't be easy and the current lot will need to be cleared out and some form of playing identity be installed that the fans can get behind, because it sure ain't there at all this season. |
| Forum Reply | Ownership of QPR at 21:56 11 Nov 2024
A concern here is where we fall now within the 4 major clubs in West London let alone the wider London football landscape and the attractiveness of a club that now can't compete with its 3 nearest neighbours is not much of a prospect. |
| Forum Reply | What we need is better players at 20:18 10 Nov 2024
Exactly pace and physicality are the strengths needed in this league and in top flight football generally and the ability to transition from defence to attack in three or four passes. Look at Boro's 3rd goal last Tuesday perfect example, QPR just don't or arn't capable of playing that way we take about 10 passes left to right, back and forth. Yes the players are not up to it and the Championship is now passing us by. |
| Forum Reply | Is this season written off already? at 08:32 10 Nov 2024
The season is not written off as there is always hope, but we just no longer have the right type of players to be competitive in this division. It has been staring us in the face for a couple of seasons now, our time is probably up for the time being as a Championship club, it happens just think in recent years reasonably medium to big clubs have dropped to League 1 be it poor form or financial shenanigans e.g. Ipswich, Derby, Sheffield Wed, Portsmouth, Sunderland and Charlton to name a few. |

I am not wanting Warburton back, just making the comment personally that it was a better football experience. Our away record was good and home form was obviously better. Yes he made mistakes and he had far superior players like Eze, Wells, Samuel, Chair and a performing Willock, as long with a few others and a playing identity. |

I know I will get pelters, but for me I really enjoyed the 3 years Mark Warburton was in charge with John Eustace. We actually looked like a decent competitive Championship side. I know it's all history and plan b stuff but it has gone downhill big time since 2021/22 season and this season could well be the final nail in our Championship coffin. [Post edited 9 Nov 10:57]

I am actually not dreading the Leeds game today, more the Stoke game, Watford and future home games. I am really questioning why I bought a ticket for Watford (disaster again no doubt), as a season ticket holder who goes to all LR games, now really questioning whether I can face watching my team surrender any more at home. I salute the 1300 plus going up to Leeds today. |

Don't blame you at all for how you feel about attending games with as you rightly describe the slop we are being served up. Me and a mate drive down from Northampton for home games and invariably the poor state of the team and our abysmal home form really is testing our resolve, especially the midweek games like Tuesday. On the communication front it's all smoke and mirrors with this club, just don't know what to believe and what our strategy is, if we actually have one. |
