| News Comment | Smyth’s smash and grab stuns City – Report at 17:29:19
Those possession stats over the last six games are bizarre, yet we don't seem to be playing lots of long balls. e.g. 55 long balls to Bristol's 45 according to the BBC, out of a total of 255 QPR passes. That's about 20% long balls. Maybe not a change in tactics as such, just less ability to play passing football and hold onto the ball? Or maybe cutting back on the Guardiola goalkeeper to back 4 passing that is so fashionable now? |
| News Comment | Dykes completes QPR's surprise Steel City redemption arc - Report at 21:26:33
Yet another entertaining and readable report. Glad we made the trip as that was an enjoyable and encouraging second half. Dembele and Saito are some finds and I was pleased that for once Dykes got his positioning and timing just right. So often he just reacts rather than anticipates. In the end, it felt like a win rather than a draw. |
| News Comment | Frey ties up cliffhanger on home debut – Report at 17:56:12
Well that was a thoroughly entertaining read, as entertaining as the match itself. It was worrying how open we were in the second half with no Field to shield the defence but then at least the midfield got the ball forward faster and more constructively. We were lucky with how Norwich stood off for the throw and cross for the equaliser. |
| News Comment | Not that Lloyd Doyley match preview again — Preview at 08:18:08
Great review and helpful financial analysis. Fortunately the wind forecast is not so bad as yesterday I was fearing another Wycombe 2003 type match with high balls favouring the team with the wind at it's back. Still got a bad feeling, though. BTW, not sure if this sentence is a Freudian error or inspired writing: "Covid and injury problems have plagued an already retched season for Barnsley". Probably the latter! |
| News Comment | Some of these people have come from Stoke - Preview at 23:01:02
Looking forward to this one. It's also a further test if whether it's the old QPR missing opportunities or the new one that takes them as per your last match report. BTW, yes Reading and Hull looks grim but I think you mean Captain Oates rather than Shackleton? |
| News Comment | Perception vs reality — Report at 20:50:50
Perception: Clive will write a stonking report. Reality: Clive writes a stonking report. Looking forward to the promised AwayDays report. |
| News Comment | To see the Queens Park Rangers - Preview at 22:11:01
I still break out in a cold sweat when I recall the 1968 League Cup loss to Peterborough. It was 4-0 so far from a narrow defeat. Hope we can end the curse in style tomorrow... |
| News Comment | QPR have their Field day — Signing at 17:58:54
Encouraging. Mention of Shaun Derry made me go all nostalgic. BTW, if he's from Stourbridge surely it's the mighty Diamond Head not Def Leppard he likes? |
| News Comment | The end of the beginning — Report at 08:54:25
Another fine report. Entertaining as well as informative. If only the team had been as consistent through the long slog but they are starting to catch up! Can't wait to get back into a packed Loft again. |
| News Comment | QPR's mad/misunderstood Malian - History at 17:19:40
Great read. That Arsenal game is a great memory. I'd love to know more about the witch doctor curse... Incidentally, I think is was Cisse red carded v Wolves not Zamora. |
| News Comment | End of Term Report 19/20 — Defenders at 22:28:37
Thanks - a lively and absorbing article with some really good laughs along the way. Looking forward to the midfielders... |
| News Comment | Impressive Baggies return Rangers to earth - Report at 20:31:47
Great report and not much to add or disagree with (other than the ref). A win would have put us top but this setup is to open for playing the big boys or teams that crowd us out so I was not surprised by the outcome. |
