Up until Christmas, Gosport were on fire, but since then have picked up some significant injuries. Id say if the game was being played last month Gosport wouldve been triumphant but i think Totton will probably edge this now...
...and you're right BTW - i think i am probably the only Saints fan who goes to Boro games, amongst a sea of filthy wannabe hoolie Skates! ;-)
Those that criticised his methods at the start of the season had every right to do so as his tactics were simply not working and at the time he seemed to be believing his own hype. Where RM has proved his detractors wrong and earned respect is that he did adapt, saw what was going wrong and evolved our playing style (im not deluded enough to think he listened to the fans). This shows that he is indeed class and this achievement is testament to that. An incredibele turn around and i think we should give the man the respect he, and his lovely coiffed hair deserves! We are still lightweight in front of goal (we shouldve been 8 nil up at half time yesterday ffs) and have at times come close to being found out but when confidence is riding this high it gives us that extra oomph. Whether we fair quite as well when we encounted Ipswich and Leicester remains to be seen but be have the bit between our teeth so why not eh! COYR!!!
Che reverting to type by blasting over when it was easier to score - my overall worry watching this is that it really does seem like we are more interested in possession rather than defence splitting passing - we are breaking down our own build ups just to keep the bll0ody ball instead of putting the opposition to the sword....
So much for all this 'we won't be bullied and will only sell on our terms' rhetoric... That didnt last long.... Still, JWP has been an excellent servant to the club and I wish him the very best.
....Im actually thinking of dragging my arse back for a few games this year after a five year hiatus (more to do with hatred of the premiership than the situation with saints - and covid of course).... but as i have a young family and i have pals and family sadly poorly with the dreaded C word it would be great to watch some games together. I sometimes use streams but kind of weirdly feel im doing my bit by paying to go legit.... (call me boyishly old fashioned, i know)....
A lot of grizzling over on 'the other forum' about the new streaming service. Where i think the radio subscription is a bit of a liberty i think being able to stream games live for a tenner (or less if you take out a subscription) is a capital idea - as long as you are an international fan of course as we home-based fans dont get to enjoy this service.
Question is (and probably one for the tech-heads), for those that cant get to games and want to watch games, will we be able to circumnavigate the system by using VPN's
Wish they'd just open this up for everyone regardless of location...
I was pessimistic at first but began to see positives as the game went on, however the constant, incomprehensible concern was, as Swansea fans had warned, this bizarre tactic of pis5ing around at the back. It directly lead to one goal and was a miracle they didnt punish us just after the re-start. If this isnt ringing alarm bells then i dont know what..... What does piss me off is the constant battering of McCarthy. He made quite a few very good saves last night, but only had to because of this system. Re-think this part of our strategy and i think we may stand a chance this season...
It is a nightmare and is going to cost us dearly. What more, with this strategy any good work the players do in trying the score goals will be undone by pis5ing around at the back which is going to seriously effect morale....
A much better second half and we could've won it if Teller took his sitter just before they scored....
Bring on a bit of experience and mix it up a bit by playing the ball over the top every now and again and by jimminy this may be a better season than i anticipated....
The playing out from the back however is utter suicide.... McCathy gifted it to them a minute after the restart and its a miracle they fluffed it....
