Micromanagement doesn't work at the speed of the game; he has to let the players manage their actions on the pitch. He can't stick to his guns because they just shoot the players in the foot. McCarthy has already lost his job; the other players will see themselves ridiculed in the press every week, and gradually they will leave him. |
