100%. I don't disagree, he laid down the defensive foundations Rodgers benefitted from in our promotion year. But I was bored out of my skull watching the team play. |

The answer is simple (which many won't like). Don't turn up. You'll never get 100% of fans not turn up as they will support the team no matter what and it will hurt us financially with less gate receipts. But if our crowds dwindled down from 13k to 6k in a space of a couple of weeks the Board would soon get the message and act. |

My point is... As things stand right now. It doesn't matter who we get in because they wouldn't do a worse job than our current manager (on current form). He disrespected us and wanted the WBA job, and since then we have been woeful. We were massively inconsistent in the run up to Christmas too. Any new manager who comes in MAY take us down. I accept that. But LW WILL take us down. We need to give the team a fighting chance, new voice, new tactics. If not... It's league one next year |

Giggs? Gerrard? Cooper? Dyche? At this point in time absolutely anybody. Who would do a worse job? Right now I'd have my least favourite swans manager of all time come back (Sousa) in place for this guy. The football was boring but at least we were very difficult to beat! Teams are walking all over very us at the moment. |
| Forum Reply | Norwich City v Swansea City : Mach day thread at 14:57 25 Jan 2025
Haven't seen the game today but reading this thread in real time confirms it's been another shambles. Players aren't blameless, no. But the same manager keeps putting the same players out with the same instructions. If they're not following his instructions then he needs to have the cohonas to drop them. If he's happy with how they're contributing... Well then there's your answer. Not purely based on today's result but I've said since December he has to go. He's lost the majority of the fans, the players must be lacking confidence as well. Can he really look himself in the mirror and say "I'm the best person for this job" the answer is obviously no and he should offer his resignation immediately. If the answer is "yes" Coleman needs to arrange people in white coats to have his assessed because he's deluded. Either way, he should resign or be sacked before the team bus sets off from Carrow Road this afternoon. |
| Forum Reply | Swansea City : Luke says the right things pre Norwich City **New signing ! at 12:34 25 Jan 2025
"We can't build a group in the simplest way, just finding players who are performing very well in the Championship, splashing the cash and bringing them in to make those performances for us. Lovely, a shortcut is brilliant. But we are not in that situation, so we have to find a clever way. It's our responsibility inside the building to re-engage with the fans and to give them optimism and hope that actually something is changing. It is ridiculously challenging, yes, because we don't have the obvious things that help many teams to be successful. But sulking is not going to change that. The only way to help is to warrior up and try to find a smart way to try to build a group of players with a feeling and a style that can hack the system and get us where we want to be” Can I suggest you start with playing a bit more directly... Forward passes/through balls and overlapping fullbacks to get the ball into the box more regularly would be a start. Also a player who actually likes to dribble and run at the heart of defences would be good to keep them guessing. Sideways/backwards passing (constantly) is not the way forward (see what I did there) |
| Forum Reply | Where's the new signings? at 16:10 22 Jan 2025
I hear you regarding point 3, and agree this is playing a big part in the board not rushing. They maybe feel that we're in a comfortable League position where were not currently looking likely to break into the playoffs not get dragged into a relegation battle. However, our form has dipped considerably (despite an encouraging first 45 minutes last night) and if we lose the next 4 on the bounce in a relegation battle we will be with no options to bring anyone in. The sensible thing is to bring a couple of signings in this window to shake things up a bit and give the squad a bit more energy and momentum. |

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see LW sacked after the window closes. No permanent signings (possibly 1 with Low if they can get that over the line) but others will be loans. I don't think the board wants to sign players for LW, with him highly unlikely taking the team next year. If they wait until February to sack him and replace, there's no worries of "promises" to be made to a new incoming manager for immediate backing in the transfer market. |
| Forum Reply | Luke off to the Netherlands at 22:14 16 Jan 2025
Maybe he's being SENT over so the board can have some airtime with the players and someone digging into the players confidence into the manager! |
| Forum Reply | Luke off to the Netherlands at 21:39 16 Jan 2025
I concur. Fly the player over and show him the magnificent facilities available and make him an offer he can't refuse. No need for a return flight then and in the team ready for Saturday |
| Forum Reply | Welsh FA offer Merthyr £6m to join Welsh Premier league at 21:30 16 Jan 2025
The Martyrs wouldn't consider this surely? Yes money is appealing in the short term, but would lack ambition. They're looking good for promotion this year, so would only two tiers away from being promoted to the national league. FAW would be better spending the money on existing clubs within the Welsh league structure and grass roots. |

You know the games is in Legoland in Cardiff and not out in Alicante right? I know the yanks want to capitalise on revenue and play abroad but that's not come to fruition (yet) [Post edited 15 Jan 13:42]

I don't think it'll be "forgotten" RM delivered the double double and we still wanted him out. Yes you want bragging rights, but overall performance and success is far more important than two local derby matches. |
