As I don't drink at football, I usually am sat in the ground when the players come out for their pre match drills and the shooting drills never include the defenders as they used to, I feel that is a mistake as we now have a style of play where almost anyone on the team can get a scoring chance and even if they just stick to the basics of head & knee over the ball etc. it would amplify their chances significantly. Notwithstanding he had an excellent game yesterday, that was a shocking attempt by Varane, he just didn't look like he have ever had a shot in his life. |

Wettest; Reading at home in the SIMOD cup, it was like being stood under a waterfall at the front of the Loft. Swindon away sat on seats on an open terrace wasn't much better. Coldest; Carlisle away with driving sleet towards the away fans all game. I followed most of the match with my back to the pitch and only turned around when there was a bit of crowd excitement. Not sure, but I think we lost 1-0 too. Honorary mention for the Forest game during the miners strike and Blackburn away {-18ÂșC} when we came from 3-0 down at half time and pulled 2 back in the second half. Also the first time I ever met Saffa. |

The team spirit and the togetherness are really apparent now as well the camaraderie with fans. When you see Nardi and Varane belting out HI Ho Silver Lining with the crowd you know the team is in good shape. |

I had to fix my hydraulic car lifting device today. I will be authoring a small booklet to help others who may need some help should they need it. It's title is Jack: The Repair. |

What a dismissive viewpoint "A few flicks, tricks and nutmegs in the championship for 1 season" Were you one of those that voted for PK? In just 1 game Adel shows more skill than Salah will ever have. You don't appear to have grasped that in the hierarchy of talent, Adel is at the pinnacle, irrespective of whether he ever did it over a long time or not. If longevity was the focus, I am going with Peter Shilton. |

Name someone from 1965 (when I 1st watched football( onwards that you have seen that had more talent than Adel. |

done much, much more with his talent than Taarabt. That was my point. Taarabt had more talent. Taarabt had the ability to do what Salah does but failed to do so, Salah doesn't have the talent to do the things Adel could. |

Harry Kane has won SFA in his career, nada, zilch. The criteria was how good a player is/ was. |

If I had to die on any hill over this I would say that none of that team were even close to being as fit as our current squad. It's just how football has evolved. Maintaining a higher level of fitness compared to what was elite performance levels only a decade ago has got to take a toll on the body and needs to be managed, something that appears to be lacking atm at QPR. |

I had a decent 15 minute chat with him covering both music & his time as chief rival to AKUTR'S He told me he still has all his fanzines and quite a no. of AQOTWA's that didn't sell. He said he was all squared away with the club and has been clean for a while so no repeats. He definitely seems a lot more chill these days said he was hoping to get to more games in the future. |

Definitely Adel. He could do things that Stan & Rodney could only dream of. If he could have Luca Modric drooling over his skills then it's not just us in QPR world. I still think that PK getting POTY over him is another of those non existent 1986 Milk Cup final things. I would Thierry Henry over Salah too (sorry Brian) maybe Jim McCalliog but that could just be a memory thing. Charlie Nicholas is another strong memory. |

Mea culpa. I had actually forgotten that Yeovil made it to the Championship. A very decent fan turnout accompanied by a game that bad. |

It was noticeable that he was getting double teamed, same Kolli and Saito, when the ball was fed to him. The pace of the three of them were giving PNE a lot problems to solve with both their pace and tenacity. A great team effort from everyone today, subs included. |

I just checked and the earliest a player can sign a pro contract is on the day of their 17th birthday. Agents and other clubs are liable for hefty fines for poaching players under this age. |

A little boy sent off his letter to Santa. "Dear Santa, would you please send me a little sister?" Santa wrote back. "Would you please send me your mother". |

Owen, Walcott and Rooney were all playing EPL games at 16 so I wouldn't have thought that a loan would be an unreasonable path for a 16 year old. [Post edited 19 Dec 2024 19:31]
