Have said on a few occasions in the past there should be a place on the current Board for Billy Power - He understands the club and the fans in equal measure!

TF - Cant help but like the Man....he and the board acted with incredible generousity when they converted the debt to shares, took financial responsibility for their mistakes.
I think he will come good! |

I think they have certainly spent in the region of £500 million operating the club since they took over!
It does feel like lost money given our current position vs. taking over as Champions!
Still I believe by converting the £200 mill-ish debt to club shares was extremely generous and cant be ignored.
In doing that we avoided being a basket case like Bolton or Wigan! |

"All managers/dofs are in it for themselves hence the reason they soon seek out employment elsewhere when sacked.
Ferdinand and Ramsey had their hearts in the right place but so have many others who have failed before them.
I'm not saying Ferdinand isn't the answer however i saw more than enough to know CR(i liked him and liked the idea of what he wanted)wasn't a football manager at this level so i felt a change was necessary.
Do i blame CR?no of course i don't,that accolade goes to TF who has been a mitigating disaster for our great club.
A wily old character NW is which is exactly what we needed last time we were in desperate shit in this division and he done more than any of us expected.
CR will never have the ability to do what NW does so as much as you liked him it was only going to end the way it did.
Even someone as nuts as TF could clearly see he'd made a desperate naive appointment that was doomed to failure."

I was told by someone close to the board at the time that Paladini mortgaged his house to raise money to buy into QPR and eventually got his money back and plenty more and that Billy Power donated money to the club when it was on its arse and needed it most to pay wages without ever expecting to get it back!
Don't think any of the others with perhaps the exception of TF would have done the same! [Post edited 27 Nov 2015 9:30]

I say..Billy Power!
His tenure may have been shorter than it should, but he is the only Chairman actually born in the Bush (White City Estate) and to this day a life long fan...
More importantly he put his own personal money into the club without ever having an expectation of it being paid back just wanted the club to move forward!

I believe a 3 to 1 debt vs Revenue ratio is the acceptable limit of a viable business.
We'll generate circa £40 Million this season with Parachute payments....but I very much doubt that will cover our operating costs for this season....so the debt is likely to go up further....oh and also next season we get around £10 million less in Parachute Payments...That makes QPR a basket case business for any possible investors.
So next question is....Even if Fernandes/Mittal et al did decide to cut their losses and take a hit and write off some of the debt and put the club up for sale....who out their would want to invest in a basket case....perhaps a predatory buyer with a big ego.... Ring any bells?
Another big issue for the board must be their failure to capitalise on players sale values in the off season and backing the wrong choice of Manager.....I would think Les is feeling a bit squeaky at the moment!
So ultimately we are forced to push for promotion because its the best option under the current owners for their short and longer term future as club owners!
The debt will dictate their actions/strategy because they owe it...so get promoted but stick within a sensible budget and see what happens is their objective....but most importantly get promoted and get access to cash...with the players we have got BTW.....and that boyo is not going to happen under Ramsey...
Uncle Tony knows he must try and reduce the debt, that will be the yard stick he will ultimately be measured by......if he does he might have something left to sell!!!

That £200 Million is not going to disappear....and as his appetite wanes he knows he has the possibility of another shot at the Premiership and possibly reducing it to £150 Million!
Meanwhile he is chunking out in service payments....this debt is what will ultimately drive his/the Boards behaviour! |

QPR’s aim this season is now to challenge for promotion and Chris Ramsey “has to step his game up”, Les Ferdinand has said.
Rangers have made a troubled start to the campaign, conceding a total of 20 league goals — no Championship side has shipped more.
Head coach Ramsey has therefore come in for criticism from fans, particularly after the recent 4-0 thrashing at Fulham.
Ferdinand backed him after that debacle, insisting “consolidation” remained the club’s aim this season despite a number of high-profile players staying at Loftus Road.
However, the Rangers director of football, who met with co-chairman Tony Fernandes this week, accepts that Ramsey’s brief has now changed.
Speaking on ‘Access All R’s’ on the club website, Ferdinand said: “When you look at our squad of players, yes of course the expectation has changed.

“With the ability we have in the team, we expect to be up there. Hopefully we will be, and we’ll be doing everything we possibly can to make sure we’re up there fighting come the end of the season.”
He added: “If the expectations have risen for the squad, they’ve risen for Chris as well. He finds himself in at the deep end.
“When the position was given to him, we were talking about consolidation and just keeping us in the league. The expectations have changed for him. It’s something that he’s relishing.
“If you’ve been beaten 4-0 or given 20 goals away in the first 10 games, people are going to say ‘You don’t know what you’re doing’ because you’re giving goals away a bit too cheaply and easily.
“He has to step his game up as well, that’s for sure.”
Ramsey’s side are 11th in the table and return to action on Saturday when they visit Birmingham City.

I think you'll find that its the club who decide whether or not to accept an offer for a player that's in contract!
They knocked back the offer.

Nothing wrong with getting promoted straight back into the Premiership if we have played well enough to earn it!
We are a club with an 18+k capacity and carrying the level of debt you would associate with a Champions league club....£200 million....that needs to be serviced!
So given current squad retention and talent pool....IMO there is an opportunity to bounce back and cash in on another Premiership season to improve our financial situation?
I'm coming to the conclusion that LF and CR don't have the experience to make that happen...
Before anyone says it.....we all already know you cant buy a premiership team so if it did happen we have to stick with an acceptable pay structure.....why not enjoy the financial wind fall but stick within our buying strategy of investing in the right players.....and live with the outcome!
Is it still possible?
I just don't see that Ramsey is capable of delivering that in the short term nor much better in the longer term! [Post edited 1 Oct 2015 13:14]

Its a good return on the investment we spent to bring him in Simmo....A canny DOF should at the very least be profiting off the back of such performances and opportunity given to profit for the club....Burnley did? |

Then negotiate a contract extension where the offer of pay reflects the valuation you place on the player and secure your investment and any commercial gain to be had in the future...that's what Directors of football are supposed to do!
If Charlie didn't want to commit to that let him go for £12 million....instead they hedged that a better offer might come in...its backfired! [Post edited 1 Oct 2015 13:15]
