I sincerely hope that you pull through this. Your attitude to the news suggests to me that you will. |

Remember that Cardiff game. Unusual for us to turn out in red. I thought DS was rash in coming for the second goal. Swans fans in Canton stand and in front of main stand as well as behind goal. Gutted for DS that he wasn't given a chance in top flight. DD was an enigma. Capable of some breath taking saves but always liable for a flap on a quite regular basis. Always had a soft spot for our much maligned goalkeepers over the years, Steve Potter being prime example!! |

I remember the police had Ford Escort RS2000's in Liverpool which I thought was really cool. Seemed to get into Anfield quite easily I think. Everton was quite hairy. Horrible bunch at that time. Stafford Rangers in the Welsh Cup away mid week. Why? Ipswich away. One of the best away performances I've ever seen. It really was a great time to be a Swans fan. Great times with fantastic company. Many sadly no longer with us. |

Missed p/o v Barnsley. On holiday in USA at time. Ruined the day at seaworld!!! I'm not nice to be around when we lose. Even worse when some dick texts me to say how shit we are. Went to old Wembley in 70's and 80's to see a few charity shield and league cup finals. Shite hole would be polite. |

Fletcher memorial home has to be one of the greatest Floyd (Waters) songs. Love that track. "Anonymous Latin American meat packing glitterati" possibly my favourite line in any song ! |

I think the friction between Gilmour and Waters did help create some great music and without doubt Waters was a complete tool towards the end. His attempts at reconciliation years later was met with complete disdain by Gilmour, and you couldn't blame him for that. It was only Mason who tried but failed at rebuilding the bridges between the two. Both of the main players moved on and seem satisfied with where they are now. |

Hey bluey appreciate the views given. Not sure Gilmour is underrated as I think he gets a fair deal of appreciation from most parts. I do agree that Floyd is or was more than just Gilmour/Waters. I just missed the diversity that for me epitomised the 70's Floyd that the post Waters era just couldn't match. Waters can be a bit hard to take on times but on the whole I have enjoyed his solo albums. Gilmour on the other hand is fairly bland solo. One thing for certain the classic 70's Floyd were the one I enjoyed most. |

Just had a look at the water on Mars thread and noticed how that went off topic quickly and moved onto Floyd. So I thought I would start a Floyd one. I must admit I love Waters/Gilmour era Floyd. And in my opinion Gilmour has played two or three of the all time greatest guitar solos. However, I really can't get into his solo album stuff. Whereas with Waters I like his solo work. Couldn't be bothered to go and see Gilmour solo tour but seen Waters quite a few times. Not a fan of early Barrett era Floyd either, a bit to whimsical for me on the whole. And not a lover of post Waters Floyd but some decent stuff here and there. As someone mentioned on the 'Mars' thread they can come over a bit pretentious but the 70's were a great time for them with four classic albums. Interested to see what others think on Gilmour/Waters. |
