Second that. Just spent my first spring/summer all but retired. Used to hate Sunday evenings but now it doesn’t matter. Every day is a Saturday for me now as I used to tell clients coming up to retirement. 😁 |

Didn’t start drinking coffee until I was 49. Now got a nespresso coffee maker (for the smaller pods) and a milk frother attached. Best kitchen toy I’ve ever bought. Start the day with a flat white and then another for breakfast. Went out with my other half yesterday morning and ended up in Costa having an Americano with an extra shot. Drink for the flavour, the more bitter the better. The caffeine doesn’t seem to affect me, although prior to liking coffee I did drink a lot of tea which evidently has more caffeine in it than coffee. Tip for a line who has a nespresso machine that takes the smaller pod, but them in Lidl’s. 20 pods for £2.79. Have a variety of strengths as well. |

Although not the greatest of England captains he was still prolific with the bat and carried the team on many occasions. Suspect he still has a few more years in him yet to beat Tendulkars record. |

Marti, please don’t tell me again that the players did not do as you asked of them or any other lame excuses. This match and much of what has happened so far this season is on you and your team selections and the way you want them to play. It doesn’t work. It hasn’t worked all season and I suspect if you continue it will not work for the rest of the season. I have been bored stiff so far watching Rangers this season, ponderous, lethargic, no movement, no pace and not a lot else either. It’s all on you as a manager. The first goal today was down to zonal marking at a corner and the cross could have gone to any of half a dozen Derby players and they would have had a free header. The second goal was schoolboy stuff, not much difference to that fourth goal that Blackburn got against us under Ainsworth last season. Utter dog toffee the whole lot has been apart from maybe Nardi, Dunne, Cook and Frey. |

We are awful. Apart from a couple of halves this season we have been second best in every game. We have no idea on playing out from the back, no strength in midfield, Madsen is especially weak, and no creativity up front. Dembele loses interest. Andersen is just poor and to be honest I haven’t got a clue what Cifuentes is trying to achieve with this team. Whatever it is he needs to abandon it and get back to the way we played towards the back end of next season otherwise we are no further forward than we were under Ainsworth. And to be honest this season has so far has been as bad as the first part of last season and we were all over wanting Ainsworth out. I’m actually getting fed up with Cifuentes and his style of play. Would really be a right bummer for teams that have spent well in excess of £1billion on transfer fees and also secured players on multi year contracts! |

Check out the Wolves goal against Liverpool at the weekend. Exactly the same scenario at the start where the Wolves player robs the Liverpool centre half. No issues from the ref in allowing play to continue. |

40 years ago we were sticking in teenagers of the likes of Allen, Goddard, Waddock, Neill, Dawes, Macca etc against Division 1 and 2 sides. But they were good enough. Nothing about building up their physicality although I suppose that they had the advantage of cutting their teeth in the Football Combination. |

Didn’t watch todays match but for me MC really has to consider his footballing philosophies against the pragmatism of championship football. Too much pïssballing about at the back, too slow in the build up and suspect against any team that tries to press us to any degree. At this time we look a poor side. Watched Plymouth last night and they looked lightyears ahead of us. Really enjoyed their style of play. Yep we are missing Chair but to be fair Dembele should be providing the dynamism in midfield. We are now in danger of seeing MC’s stay unraveling unless he starts to realise that a) he isn’t Pep and b) we haven’t the defence and midfield that Citeh has. A good manager adapts to the players at his disposal and gets them to play a style that makes the most of their attributes. A bad one keeps making the same mistakes time and again. Last week he was annoyed that the team didn’t play to the way he wanted. To be honest I think he could say the same every week so far bar a few odd halves. It’s time to get the team playing like he did in the final third of last season. |

To be honest at that age he should be loaned out to League Two clubs at worst. We’ve seen too many of these so called starlets being loaned to non-league and lower non-league at that and the simple truth is that they are not good enough hence the cull this last summer. Look at Drewe now, he has gone to Oxford City because that is his level. Kakay can’t find a club at all. And any other kid that has been released has struggled to find a club. Need to be honest with these kids. If Tuck doesn’t stand out in these three months at Enfield then that is a big indicator of his future. |

Went on the Friends of Foolham site earlier this week to see their reaction to the behaviour of Fayed. Cannot believe how many comments were of the ‘can’t let a man rest in peace’ etc mingled in with the genuine disgust. But without doubt blind eyes were turned both at Harrods and Foolham in the knowledge that he had a penchant for young blonde ladies. |

First memories of Ceefax was the League Cup semi final second leg against Villa at Villa Park. Eldest brother at the time was a transmitter engineer at the Beeb and had managed to ‘procure’ a ceefax box, which you plugged into the back of the TV. To dial a page you had to align the three numbers required a bit like a padlock and then wait for the page to load at the same speed as dial-up was with the internet in the early days. Thought we had lost 2-1 as there was no refresh back then until watching the highlights on Sportsnight. |

Can’t disagree at all. And to be honest it must be boring if a Neil Harris Millwall side look like Barcelona in comparison. We were very lucky to escape with a point again. We are so slow building up, teams have got us sussed with ease. High press and we are fûcked. And even if we manage to get in the opposition half there is two banks of four ready and organised. Countless times we ended up giving the ball away. We really do need to mix it up. 60% possession and hardly any chances. |

I understand that under EFL rules the £4million has to be repaid to Couhig. Bang goes the Olise money. Bet that Lewis Wing thanked his lucky stars snubbing us to go there. |

Have only watched the highlights of the last two games but the thing that strikes me is that we now have a far better squad of players that will cope well with the championship once things have bedded down properly. I really do believe that this coupled with MC and a lower quality overall in the championship that we could threaten the play offs. We are scoring goals which last season was a major struggle and although we have yet to get a clean sheet we are letting in less than last season. Remember that the benchmark of last season were those two horrific performances against Watford and Blackburn. We are a million years away from them now. |

Another vote for Slow Horses. Me and my partner have binge watched the first two series since the weekend. Absolutely brilliant. Gary Oldman plays the ultimate anti-hero. |
