| Your Report | West Ham United v Southampton Your Report added at 19:36:32 Four of our five January signings on the bench (the fifth didn’t even make the squad)….three of the four summer signings that started today wouldn’t get into any other prem team….Walcott and Mo first choice….is it any wonder why we are going down? |
| Your Report | Southampton v Newcastle United Your Report added at 08:30:42 I thought Salisu had a great game at left back. He got very little support from the midfield, especially Orsic who looked a bit lost. Central midfielders all played well but we couldn’t get the ball out wide enough so Djenepo and Orsic were spectators. That miss from Adams!!!! The sad thing is I expect most of us expected him to miss! |
| Your Report | Everton v Southampton Your Report added at 19:51:18 @ I_would can’t you just enjoy the fact that the player who will score the most premier league free kicks of all time currently plays for SFC? And to say that Pickford should have had someone on the post just shows your ignorance. Haven’t you heard of offside? Didn’t you see the 96th minute equaliser Brighton scored against us when McCarthy called JWP back?? |
| Your Report | Tottenham Hotspur v Southampton Your Report added at 23:38:53 First goal: djenepo useless preventing cross, KWP useless defending against Sessegnon. Second goal: Aribo completely leaves Dier unmarked. Third goal: Salisu, wtf Forth goal: Bednarek nowhere near the goalscorer, just stands in front of our keeper, about two yards away. Schoolboy stuff Should of spent £50m on two players - a quality cb and a decent striker - instead of six lambs to the slaughter. |
| Your Report | Brentford v Southampton Your Report added at 09:01:27 San Marco, I think that’s a fair question to ask. My take on it is that we got to the QF of the FA cup and we were virtually safe in February, I would of taken that at the start of the season. Based on that I think he has earned a bit of wriggle room. There are clearly issues within the squad around motivation, you never get the best out of players when they know they are leaving or better players will be coming in in the summer, just look at Man Utd. I also don’t think we should downplay the level of stability he has brought to the club during the last part of the Gao years when we had to survive on a shoestring. I’d give him one more season as this summer might see a clear out and a rebuild, especially if we cash in on JWP. If we don’t push on next season I would look to move him on then. |
| Your Report | Norwich City v Southampton Your Report added at 18:18:22 Just two points from me: Firstly, Forster has to be given a run of games after that horror show from McCarthy. Secondly, we’ve now only scored more than one goal in a league game on two occasions out of12 games this season. That has to change or we’ll really struggle this season. We can’t rely on keeping clean sheets to help us win games. |

| Your Report | Southampton v Burnley Your Report added at 19:25:20 Like others have said, I was really disappointed with the starting line up today. Of the ten outfield players, I can only see Broja ending the season with more than 5 league goals. In which case, Ralph has to change his tactics or do something to accommodate more goal scorers. Replacing Ings’ goals will be hard enough (although Broja looks more than capable), but who is going to score the goals that Che Adams scored last season? Ralph needs to have a major rethink of his tactics and formation before we get dragged into a scrap at the bottom. |
| Your Report | Chelsea v Southampton Your Report added at 13:37:09 I think there are goals in Armstrong and Adams but we don’t play to their strengths. Sticking rigidly to 4-4-2 is an issue for me, it’s too predictable and easy to play against. |
| Your Report | Southampton v Wolverhampton Wanderers Your Report added at 19:35:39 I thought Elyounoussi was really disappointing today, he got the ball in some really good positions but then looked totally clueless. He couldn’t pick a killer pass or get a decent shot off. We need to attack with pace (which we have in abundance), that would favour both Armstrong and Adams, yet we have slow build ups that give the opposition time to get men behind the ball and then we end up passing it round the edge of the box with no clear site of goal. Very frustrating but not terminal. |

| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 20:28:56 I thought Hojbjerg and JWP were awesome today. Hojbjerg really ‘stepped up to the plate’ with an inexperienced player alongside him in midfield. Hats off to Ralph for picking Smallbone, rather than going for the obvious, and slightly negative, tactic of playing Romeu. I really felt for Adams today, I don’t know how their defender blocked his effort, gutted! Great performance, onwards and upwards! |
