Sadoldgit added 15:09 - Mar 20 Job done. Took a while to get into the game but when we got there it was a stroll. Redmond MotM with honourable mentions to Armstrong, KWP and Moussa. Another solid performance from JWP who is a machine. No game time for Jankewitz? Strange as giving him a few minutes might have helped put the United game behind him. Good to see us making decent chances again and being more threatening in attack, not that Bournemouth were any great shakes. Hopefully this will help build confidence for the run in and we will start performing in the league as we do in the cup.

felly1 added 15:13 - Mar 20 Totally outplayed a poor Bournemouth side. Well done boys cant ask for more than that. Redmond was excellent and let's hope he can take some confidence into the Burnley game in a fortnight.

SaintPaulVW added 15:31 - Mar 20 Bournemouth weren't great but you can only play what's in front of you. We weren't really troubled at the back. The difference in divisions was obvious. We played well, particularly Redmond and Djenepo. KWP, JWP and Armstrong also did well. Adams nearly carried on his streak. Hopefully this builds a bit of confidence back for the PL. COYR.

codge added 16:13 - Mar 20 Up until the assists and his two goals l was thinking what does Redmond actually do for Saints and then all of a sudden he played like we know he can.Got too give credit we’re it’s due and his best game by a mile for such a long time.What a work horse Armstrong is a great game also for me hard to split it up between him and Redmond and also Djenepo all played well. As a team they all worked hard now please carry the work rate over to the Premier league and we will get back to being a force once more COYR.

SanMarco added 16:16 - Mar 20 What a difference good finishing makes! Alright Bournemouth were poor but that is largely irrelevant in the moment before the shot. Now we need Sheffield to beat Chelsea. We get them in the semis and then piece of cake against Man C in the final!!!

TimSaint added 16:57 - Mar 20 With all the pre-match (non) rivalry and build up, I wasn't sure what to expect, especially with Cooke calling it a revenge match after we apparently got them relegated last season. Both teams were missing a few, but to be honest, we controlled the game throughout, only giving them chances when we needlessly gave possession away, or when the referee ignored their strong arm tactics. Despite being on top, we still lacked that cutting edge, no thanks to VAR, but that run and pass by Redmond and cool finish from Djenepo, really changed the game. You could see the confidence return and Redmond became more direct and duly notched our 2nd on the stroke of HT. 2nd half was much of the same with us on top. VAR again denied us a goal after offside in the build up to a great Adams strike, but it didn't stop us and after Armstrong's shot came back off the post, Redmond followed up. Good to see us use our subs well and see the game out. Bournemouth rarely threatened apart from a late header and you could see them get frustrated. So much so that Surridge decided to give out some GBH to Salisu with a terribly late challenge, which really deserved a red, not yellow. So we march on into the Semis and hopefully we get a good draw !! Shame the commentators said we got an easy draw for our game today. They must have forgotten we beat cup holders Arsenal in the 4th round and Wolves away in the 5th !! Now we have 2 weeks to prepare for our next league game, so hopefully we can carry this cup form over into the league.

ElijahK added 23:28 - Mar 20 Soo frustrating/annoying that we weren’t there to see the look on those Bournemouth fans faces! Also annoying that we’re not allowed at the semi’s at Wembley as in the end it’s no real difference for us lot whether we played at Wembley or the likes of old Trafford (but I guess it does make some difference to the players)! But might be allowed at the final when we knock out the likes of Sheffield United (and yeah I’m being optimistic on them beating Chelsea)!

Flamingbankers added 08:26 - Mar 21 After a few bouts of Bournemouth attacking at the beginning of both halves, it was a bit of a stroll in the park. FF was positioned himself well with about three direct shots on target. The defence looked solid enough although Vesters and Bedders both got bookings and at the end Ralph replaced them with Stephens and Salisu, just in case worse was incurred. Salisu was very lucky not to incur a serious injury when he was laid out with a vicious body charge from behind by Surridge - the Ref bottled sending the thug off. I was pleased to see Redmond attacking the Bournemouth defence and it was terrific to get the two excellent goals but he now has to continue that with decent Premier performances and get back to the kind of form he was showing a year ago. To be honest Bournemouth gave Saints far too much room in midfield allowing Redmond and Armstrong to run freely and create havoc - that doesn't happen in the Prem. Talking of the middle, Saints really miss a strong, tough general, like Romeu, where, without that, Saints are going to struggle to pick up points as all Premier teams will exploit the weakness. As well as a Saints win today, I was almost as equally glad that Fulham and Newcastle lost.

KriSaint added 08:59 - Mar 21 Great win and defeats to Fulham and Newcastle in the league = lovely saturday at the house. Redmond played very well and I really hoped he would get a hattrick and get a match ball for his mantelpiece which he deserved (and ALMOST got). Armstrong, KWP and Djenepo also did very well, and Salisu looked good when he came on. I have never seen 2 non-injured centerhalves get substituted at the same time, but leading 3-0 and with both on a yellow card it made good sense. We now have 4 approved centerhalves , and it has been a while since that was the case.... When Ings and Walcott are back I hope we will be hard to beat again. Now, let's hope for a miracle victory for Sheff. U. vs Chelsea and a not unrealistic Leicester victory vs Man. U. Well done and congratulations to players, Ralph, his staff, our club and us fans.
