Irn Bru always did the job. That or Lucozade. With a sausage sarnie. And a banana. Have a massive dump to purge the poison. Try and go back to sleep for a bit and about an hour later, Go back out for either a really good, thick, ice cold milkshake or a box of mini milks. Mix liberally with lying on the sofa Watching rubbish for several hours before going to the pub for a gravy dinner (pie and mash/bangers and mash/roast dinner) and four or five pints before going home. After 50,000 years of this I can speak with some authority. So, the simple answer is a few painkillers combined with a hot bath.
