Sorry lads I jinxed it.Me and my mate DL an ashes app and were pissing about on the drive home ,guessing the scores then looking on our phones. When it was 83 for 3 I said nah I aint looking no more I can see a collapse coming ,.My mate said nah bllx (he's a Pom too .Essex boy) Broady's gonna get a 50 to piss em right off. I got home and we were 7 for 89 .. Gotta love the Ashes tho...
FFS> The Aussies target Broad he steps up with 5 wickets and a respectable 32 and everyone else collapses around him. Not looking forward to tomorrows Mail.( I am really it'l be funny) Gotta love the Ashes..
One good thing for us Poms over here with todays play.At least the workplace ,gym, church, marketplace will be alive with the chatter about cricket and the Ashes. For too long now the Aussies have denied their love of cricket.Think Judas Iscariot and X it by 12. Exiles will know what I'm onnabout..I dont want a 3 :: 0 or a whitewash for England. I want a close series with the Aussies thinking theyve done us and then we rally and crush em. Its all going to plan I guess

I'm guessing he means our bowling attack__ The Aussies 2nd innings. This match has gone unless we get the storms and roos on Ice.. Still think we will do em 2 : 1 with a couple of draws.
well theres rain about the next 2 days, whether it does anything is another question.
we never do well at the gabba really, the one thing that is for sure is that the aussies tails will be up now. england need to pummel them in the next test and have them questioning their ability again.

We never do well in the first Test of a series away from home. Over the years 1st Tests I have been to -
2006/07 - Lost in Brisbane (lost series 5-0) 2007 - Lost in Kandy (lost series 1-0) 2008 - Lost in Hamilton (won series 2-1) 2008 - Lost in Chennai (lost series 1-0) 2009 - Lost in Jamaica (lost series 1-0) 2009 - Drew in Pretoria but were 9 down with Bunny Onions doing heroically to save the draw (drew series 1-1) 2010 - Won in Chittagong (won series 2-0) 2010 - Drew in Brisbane with a heroic 2nd innings batting performance 2012 - Lost in Dubai v Pakistan (lost series 3-0) 2012 - Lost in Galle (drew series 1-1) 2012 - Lost in Ahmedabad (won series 2-1) 2013 - Drew in Dunedin and probably only saved the draw due to a wash out on the first day (drew series 0-0)
So from that you can see we are pretty much always sh!te in the 1st Test away from home. Therefore I wouldn't be too disheartened even if we do go 1 down. Will still be 4 to go and anything can happen!

Yet again England prove they are nowhere near as good as the pundits seem to think they are.
how good to the pundits think they are? I think the assessment is we're a solid tea with some good players - but susceptible too. Not the best in the world, but better than most. I think Cook's only lost one test as captain. He's been fortunate with weather and he'll have lost two in two days' time, but still. I haven't heard or read any pundits going overboard about this team. Thing is with Test cricket, though, is that it lasts five days. and it's very easy to look stupid making judgements about a whole test at the end of a day's play.
Bare bones.

On a positive note we have already had our worst day of the series!
2005, thrashed in first test, won series. 2009 thrashed in 4th test, won 5th to take series 2-1. 2010 thrashed in Perth, won next two tests by over an innings to win series 3-1. 2013, oh they didn't win one that series...
No new players for Aus just a shocking day at the office. It happens. We are good enough to come back and more importantly they are far from anything special. Mitchell Johnson has games like this where he seems unplayable. He has just as many if not more nightmares, hence he is still not a regular in the side.
Only rain can save this game but a long way to go.

Sorry mate it was me.I got home from work and put the kettle on,got back in the front room to see Carberry wafting his bat in the air looking like he was swatting an angry wasp.Next ball he's out.after that it was horrendous to watch.I think Prior was the worst one. He'd just seen Bell caught out by Lyon and he did exactly the same.

Just turned on the horror movie from the Gabba against my better judgement, to see Trott hooking pathetically at every short ball he got from Johnson until he predictably holed out to midwicket. That guy's confidence is now so totally shot that whatever his previous record he's a walking wicket for the Aussies and has to be left out. We're also contriving to make f--king Nathan Lyon look like Muttiah Muralitharan-it's like watching a car crash in slow motion.
