Just seen the goals from this game, all three were superb, the Scots scored direct from the kick of after going behind. I've often wondered why a shot from the kick off isn't tried more often as the 'keeper is usually well out of his goalmouth. I remember Rodney Marsh trying it against Fulham in the cup, the ball just clipped the bar, and that was at the start of the game! Had it gone in it would have probably been the quickest goal on record. Regarding Iceland, pro rata they must be one of the strongest footballing nations in Europe, with a population of just 300,000 they have produced several Prem quality players, and can give anyone a tough match nowdays in International matches. | |
