Re adoption once again, It would be interesting in 20 years or so to test whether or not there is a difference in the percentage of gay children raised by adoptive gay parents.
You know, i wouldn't be at all surrised if it turns out gay couples are more likely to raise children who grow up to be gay or bi or whatever. I just bet there will be a difference one way or the other. Bound to be don't you think? If that turns out to be the case, is it still a good thing to do? I continue to have some reservations about the adoption part.
For me, it would probably come down to whether or not there is a shortage of couples. Much better to have gay parents than no parents at all. I don't know if there is a shortlist or a waiting list.
Let's all be honest, though; there is nobody on the planet would actually choose to have gay parents if you could specify before birth. Every child would rather be born to a man and a woman, and ideally, that should be their right in my opinion.
Just saying what i feel, no need for anybody to get nasty. I think i'm making a valid point, not trying to be insulting. |  | | |

Completely untrue and if there were more than enough people to adopt then the childrens home would be no more, plenty of people willing to take on a baby, not many willing to take on an infant or older, a happy loving home is all a child needs! |  | | |

I'm not sure i'm too keen on the idea of gay people adopting children. I don't consider that ideal, whatever the PC brigade try to tell me.
As to whether they get married, personally i couldn't care less. That said, i'm not religious. If i was a Christian who actually did believe the bible  , then surely homosexuality is forbidden? I don't see how religious people can pick and choose what parts of the Word of God they can alter to suit current health and safety / political climate. If the Bible sys no gay marriage and no women priests etc., then i'd have thought that's tough titty. Not that i care either way.
It's a tiny issue to me, i'm far more concerned about Tigers (probably) becoming extinct in the wild soon. |
Homosexuality isn't mentioned once in the Christian bible (the New Testament). It isn't forbiden at all.
It is mentioned in part of the Jewish bible (the Old Testament) but Christians don't follow the Old Testament -- that is the point of Jesus and Christianity.
Incidentally, it is mentioned in the book of Leviticus in the Old Testament. In Leviticus, it says that it is an abomonation for a man to lie with a man. It also says that it is an abomination to eat shell fish. So, I hope all those who want to use a religious arguments to condemn homosexuality also stear well clear of shrimp because the bible condemns both with exactly the same level of severity! |  |

Its clear you cannot fully understand the New Testament without having a good knowledge of the Old Testament.
In the old testament, God had no choice but to punish the sins of humanity. It was the only solution his Laws provided. Once Jesus was crucified for man's sins, God's Law would not allow him to punish mankind any longer. So don't think God somehow changed his mind or his attitude. Rather, He provided another solution to human disobedience. |  | | |
