I was lucky enough to have had a season ticket during the Jago -Sexton period.

QPR were a joy to watch. The players played for each other and for the fans. A true 'team' and a successful team.

Oh happy days.........

A true QPR legend, much like Macca was but in a completely different way.

Without him I wouldn't be supporting QPR. That particular team got me supporting the hoops and I've suffered ever since! well mostly suffered I suppose, although i wouldn't have it any other way. I saw the 1975/76 team relatively few times and a few more times the following season, but they played like a highly tuned engine - they would sometimes splutter and misfire but then BANG they exploded into action and could destroy opponents in a few minutes. It's hard to explain what exactly made them so good, as I was quite young at the time, but i suspect that it was Sexton. RIP Dave Sexton and thanks.

Never saw them live but you can't get past that he was the manager of our most successful team, ever!

Sentiments echoed. Obviously before my time but nearly 40 years later football still talks about that team. RIP and thoughts with all the family

See the bbc text showed its ignorance over this too. Names him as former scumsea and Man Utd boss.....oh and he coached England u21s too don't you know......but researchers can't seem to manage to find any info on his managership of us,..or if they did don't feel we are worthy of a mention.

His two European Under-21 Championship wins with England (victories over Spain and Germany) look especially impressive in retrospect...we haven't won anything before or since!

My first game in November 75' and saw the rest of the season at home. I fell honoured by that experience. For me, he was the first and, without a doubt (El Tel a close second) the best.
