How about we just ignore them. Are they really relevant? Hardly rivals, not even greater London. Maybe they just get semi's thinking that we really give a toss over them, their kit, songs and anything else.

Reading, you're history. We have got bigger fish to fry.

How about to the tune of 'Taarabt's too good for you'

We respect your manager
Some of your players did a job for us
Your kit's not got as many hoops as ours
Apart from that we've got no beef with you.

Your players don't sleep with other player's wives
Or get embroiled with alleged racial slurs
Can't think of anything else right now
That's it, have a nice day.

.... What? ... Too much?

Never knowingly right.

So at least 62 and as much as 81 (missing 19 years on that chart) of Reading's 141 year history has been played in kits other than hooped.
47 years straight in stripes right after their 1 inaugural year in some very narrow hoops.
Longest continual period in hoops 27 years.

QPR - continually blue & white hooped for the last 53 years, blue & white hoops for 52 of the previous 59 years, green & white hoops for the preceding 34 years and halved shirts for the initial 10 years of our existence.

We were wearing blue & white hoops for 12 years before Reading went back to wearing them for the first time since the opening year of their existence.

Spot the hoops.

I seem to remember stripes on the so-called 'millenium' (99? 2000?) Ericsson kit didn't go all the way round?

Stand to be corrected as it's one of the few shirts I didn't buy (for that very reason, I think).

That had white mesh down the sides and a kind of disc on the back for number but the hoops were still on the back as you can see on Kiwomya

Hmm, I'm not convinced the top bar does join up, however that would still make it 'a' hoop and not 'hoops'. Shoddy dereliction of a shirt however you look at it.

I think that's the only one I'm missing since the Brooks kit, so I must have been bitter about it!

I know what you mean, it's amazing as fans just how precious we can get about a shirt
