Leeds Reflection 14:52 - Mar 15 with 8275 views | bluenwhite10 | A great game today and I honestly felt Rangers did well against good side and even more so when you consider how many players where out injured. Yes Leeds did have lots of possession but I can’t really remember Nardi making many and if any saves. I think the move if Edwards into midfield was the right move today and I can see that remaining until Varanne gets back. The timing of the Leeds 1st goal was a killer and looking bqck it was rightly given. Was pleased with the draw as I could only see one winner and would have took that before the game. Saito Red card was harsh and someone might need to explain to me how it was worse than the one on Smyth by Struijk, but the official where poor all day. MOM tough one to callas some very good battling displays but Dunne I guess. Come on you R’s

Leeds Reflection on 10:31 - Mar 16 by Northernr | The Edwards in midfield experiment worked well. Gonna be some player that lad. |
He's going out mith my mates niece so was chatting about him yesterday, he family are from around London so he is keen to stay but is highly unlikely as he's on ridiculous money at Southampton.

Leeds Reflection on 10:26 - Mar 16 by baz_qpr | Agree with most on this thread a really good disciplined effort and probably a lot you could not see if you were watching on the video. At the time I thought the goal was offside (as did the ref!) but having watched it back the linesman got it spot on. Same for the Saito sending off, he was diving to get the trip and take the yellow but his foot bounced of the turf so studs up on the back of the calf so its sadly a red, and I hope Paal has apologised for putting him that situation with his ridiculous free kick. Edwards I think MOTM, really good games from Smyth, Saito, Dunne, Frey and Anderson Other results have put has back in the relegation fight, but the worst fixtures are out of the way now bar Burnley. |
Saito should not have made that tackle......no need to get himself sent off. Why should Paal apologise?? You forgot to include Colback in your MOTM displays........poor observation or did you just think he didnt play well??

Well I agree with you on Colback mate, and Paal made several game saving clearances in the six yard box yesterday so it was overall a decent performance from him after a tough week, but that free kick was dumb as bricks. Last minute, chance to put the ball in the box, Dunne has crawled all over them all afternoon, and you not only try and play an overly clever short one down the side but you do it on Dan James' side knowing he's the quickest player in the league. Thick as pig sht.

Leeds Reflection on 14:06 - Mar 16 by ParkRoyalR | Brilliant Red Card for the team, 90th minute, Dan James who is lightening quick had an almost clear run on Nardi, 2-3 would have been a disaster, Saito did what Gary O'Neil did in the Play Off Final & took one for the team, good lad. |
There were 4/5 Rangers players defending plus Saiko if he just ran with him.....it was a poor decision & tackle & unnecessary risk - he would not have been sent off them!!!

It wasnt a good free kick obviously but you cannot keep 'pumping' the ball diagonally into the box, you have to vary it. Plus Saiko made the run so Paal opted to try and play him in. As for the tackle, a bit dumb in hindsight. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

You don't need to vary things in the 93rd minute. You've got one play left, you play the play that's worked best for you all day. I think you're being very kind because you think Paal gets unfair criticism on here and you want to stick up for him. He played pretty well yesterday. Numerous big clearances in our own box under heavy fire. That free kick, however, 93rd minute, was fcking rank idiocy.

It is all opinion Norf, he may have made the wrong decision to play it down the line but he may have thought what I said, he may have been 'happy' with a point, he may have thought if one of their defenders cleared the ball we may have been vulnerable defensively & a safer option, its not easy, trust me, he may have thought it was the better option........bottom line is that he did not execute the pass too well. Yea, some of the posters on here think wrong things about Paal, just like they did about Bidwell.......at least you saw him clear the ball a couple of times in front of our goalposts many just ignore it because its Paal!!! If you're happy with a point, I'm not sure passing the ball to Dan James while all our defenders are in their box is a great way to express that happiness.

We are only talking about it Nord becasue the pass did not make it to where it was supposed to go.

Yeh, because that's where Dan James lives, which is why it was a stupid idea.

I am not Paal's biggest fan in fact I hope we recruit a better left back next season but thought he did okay yesterday. Agree he should of gone into the mixer with the free kick and Saito definitely took one for the team there. James was away with a clear run into our half and we would have been in serious trouble. Probably a red as the contact was high on the calf but really glad he stopped the attack. Just a ball ache the 3 game ban but a chance for Dembele to now step up.
Leeds Reflection on 08:29 - Mar 17 with 461 views | Rsole | Paal has some good games and less good games but he’s still a better option than Ashby, even in his chosen RB position. Given we need to replace both of them in the summer, I wonder what/who is available for our budget that will provide an improvement on Paal because I’m not sure Larkeche is the answer - certainly not on his own as the ‘cover’ of Colback and Fox will be gone too. Look at what we signed with Santos for a reality check. We had to repurpose Jimmy to cover that piece of recruitment.
| Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

Paal is the classic six out of ten player. Obviously hope we can do better for next season, but I think this season all things considered he's done OK (in a Damien Delaney stylee).

Agreed Turns up virtually every week.... Does a job, some weeks better than others but he still is better than the average LB in this league in my opinion

Totally agree in every respect. Whisper it quietly, but his back-post clearances (x2) in the second-half, bailed out Jimmy "beyond reproach" Dunne, after dangerous crosses were delivered from the latter's side. Both would have led to goals being conceded without Paal's interventions.
