Chair injury 'very concerning' for QPR - Cifuentes https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c6253pe0pg8o

No confirmation yet on how serious it is but it didn't look good last night and Marti's clearly worried.

I know Chair was fasting for Ramadam, so to go almost 20+ hours without food or water and then play at that intensity theres no wonder he has pulled a muscle. Most proabably due to lack of hydration.

Im surprised we dont hear more of this type of injury with those that are observing Ramadam

That's an interesting point, and does seem to be backed up by the (limited) studies on the subject - https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22697802/. Does look like it leads to an increase in non-contact and overuse injuries. This study took place in Tunisia however where training was shifted to 22:00 to allow the players to break fast. It would be interesting to see whether this was replicated in the UK where players play whilst fasting, and to what extent.

I personally hope he plays his whole career for us .

Neve understood the sniffy attitude towards Chair on here tbh.

No doubt he's been great for us when on form.

But if he's out of form that doesn't still make him an automatic first choice, like any other player.

I still think he can improve as well, but he seems to have plateaued the last couple of years (which sadly is why I think a move could actually be good for him).

Poll: How old is everyone on here?

As always seems to be the way with our fans and our best creative attacking players

It's telling that the fans of any team playing us will always talk about Chair before anyone else

not really a problem hasn't been great

Really? In a team completely devoid of attacking output we're now happy with Chair being injured. Below are goals and assists in 2025 (min 2). I really don't think it's as great news as you're suggesting

Chair 7
Frey 4
Paal 3
Dunne 2
Saito 2
Morgan 2

I thought those fasting for Ramadan were entitled to drink plenty of water. Ilias ought to know what he needed and what was acceptable.

People I know who observe Ramadan abstain from all food and drink including water from dawn to sunset.

This.

But yeah, we've got the likes of Andersen, Madsen, Smyth, Saito, Bennie and of course the irreplaceable Yang. Chair's superfluous to our requirements.
