50th anniversary of his England debut today. He played at LB in a 2-0 friendly win over West Germany at Wembley. He only only managed 3 caps - Don Revie being an árse.

He was rock steady, dependable.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

I was at that game.

My first QPR game I saw Best and Bowles. My first England match I saw Beckenbaur and at my next England game, Cryuff and Neeskens, as well as Clement and Bowles.

Given some of the dross I've seen since, you can see why I was a bit spoiled at the start!

Unfortunately made the scapegoat for the 2-1 Euros qualifier defeat in Bratislava. He was booked early in the game and he was given a really torrid time by Masny but to be fair to him any left back would have struggled against him that day.

The next game that England played, Revie played a centre back Kevin Beattie at left back, something he would go on to do a lot after this, square pegs in round holes.
