Morning R’s - that time of year again. Anyone who knows their onions about to help the hapless once a year punter?!

If not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled. PG Wodehouse

I might love the nags but I am the worst punter in the entire world so will keep my counsel.

All I hope is that the odds on shots can be turned over, it is in real danger of boring us all into submission. No-one cares if they are Irish or English, just having short price favourites has never really been what Cheltenham is about.

I've know keen horse racing fans, for all their lives, who have never been less enthusiastic about jumps racing and the sport really does feel at a low ebb. Needs a big (and safe for the horses) Cheltenham. where the big fields and crowds can remind us what the sport is really about.

Was there when Desert Orchid won what was his third Gold Cup I think, somehow came from miles back, reckon the whole racecourse was on him too, one of the finest sporting moments I’ve been to, crowd went mental.

Think the bookies are strangling the sport too, they seem to shorten the odds on everything fancied.

The Champion Hurdle was quite funny!

The bookies can afford to be generous (they won't be) for the rest of the week after this race.

I was there yesterday fantastic day - It was always on my bucket list and it didn't disappoint. Managed to have a chat with the legendary Alan Brazil too. Fantastic chap and very down to earth. Chatted about his final few games at QPR where he said he scored against Blackpool (or was it Blackburn) I can't remember.

Anyway don't ask me for any tips as my wallet was much lighter when I got home last night.

The New Lion 5/2 in the first - Skelton’s best of the week.
Comfort Zone 13/2 in the third - JP O’Brien loves a Cheltenham winner
I have heard that Caballero Cliff is a very nice horse in the closing bumper 100/1 🥴 Might be worth a very small e/w bet if you can get 5 places

The last race and I’m intrigued with Caballero Cliff, now 200/1

I’m on the racing channel watching it.

I’m going Friday if anyone has any tips…

Came 4th…. But was 200/1

Did you not get 4 places? Most bookies were paying out on 4 places. I had a tenner each way at 150/1 Paid out £310
