Never knowingly right.
Poll: How long before new signings become quivering wrecks of the players they were?

He could do with having a look at his own contributions of late he is badly lacking in pace and too willing to turn a forward move, into the easier option of a sideways or back pass breaking down a positive attack.
He really looks like he is struggling with his fitness levels and ideally needs a spell on the subs bench, to be used to a better effect when required, than his present input has been of late.
Of course with the present injury situation this would be difficult but if that improves then the opportunity would be worth trying for him and the team to get him back to the great player we are clearly missing at present.

Sitting on the subs bench is hardly going to help his fitness levels. Playing competitive games after a prolonged spell out with injury is what is needed to get “match fit” and regain his pace and sharpness.

Having said that, Chair is not the problem. Not having a striker worth a shit up front to pass to is the problem.

The other week people were saying he was getting back to his best when he was being creative and playing through the middle. Too many of us including myself at times are far too reactionary from a single game. When the team or a player is going well we are Peps Barcelona side and a player should be in for the Ballon D'or. When things aren't going quite right we are Southampton in the Premier League this season and players should get out of our club. At the moment we are a mid table championship club. We have some good players and some who are not in great form. Sadly we have not had a striker to regularly put the ball in the net and use as a real focus point to develop our attacks. Sometimes we will play well and you can see what our style of play will be and despite not playing at our full potential knock 4 past a team and other times it doesn't work and we have 1 shot on target in 90 minutes against 10 men. It's going to happen

Yeah I’m much too reactionary after a game but I think that’s just part of being a football fan isn’t it ? Can’t go overboard but it’s just being observational for the most part .
It’s when ‘fans’ ignore what’s in front of them and carry on with agendas every week that it gets weird.

Anyway , honest summing up from Ilias there . He knows we need to be better and that will include himself . He also made the point about our naivety.
Lots of likeable characters in this squad who we can all get behind but this has to be one of the most naive and fallable sets of players I can remember.
