Saw him a couple of times in the 80s at Hammy Odeon, he really was an entertainer.
Once as part of the New York Jazz Explosion in '85 where he was one of four acts (Lonnie Liston Smith, Tom Browne and Jean Carn) and absolutely stole the show, the other solo a couple of years later. Superb gigs both of them.
