Sh*thousery by the Referee 07:43 - Mar 2 with 4227 views | numptydumpty | In injury time in the second half, someone threw a bottle at one of their players from the safe standing section (Stan Bowles) stand. It landed off the pitch. But the referee ran from the centre circle, right over to where it landed, picked it up and then ran directly right across the pitch and placed it, in front of one of the dug outs, off the pitch, then ran to the centre circle and then blew his whistle to restart the game. This took nearly two minutes of the six minutes injury time. Great sh*thousery by the ref. Did Sheffield s job for them !!! CCTV could surely have sorted this. Was this absolutely necessary ?? Sh*thousery by the Referee on 11:19 - Mar 2 by Wilkinswatercarrier | They walked that game, and never had to get out of 2nd gear. Their midfield bossed ours, their movement was better, their control of the game was better. Nothing wrong with that, they spent a fortune and are still pretty crap and they'll get battered next season. We are still unable to control a game and put sustained pressure on teams, we are a counter attack team due to the ongoing problem in central midfield. We gave it a good go though, but Sheff Utd deserved it. |
Nonsense ! | | | |

Do you honestly think that any team can just walk through a game in 2nd gear?Especially one managed by Wilder? Maybe they couldn’t get out of 2nd gear because we played so well? Why is it when top teams don’t win more comfortably it’s always because they didn’t need to,rather than the opposition stopping them playing as well as they undoubtedly can do.

Right in front of me looked yellow to me identical to the yellow he gave Colback minutes later..but it’s all about opinions.
Sh*thousery by the Referee on 13:23 - Mar 2 with 1431 views | mart_Goblin | I love this forum . But I do get infuriated when a subject is brought up to discuss and then people choose to think that because people are discussing it, then that’s the sole reason for losing . It’s just one topic for heavens sake!!! After every game there are 100 discussion topics that can be brought up about all sorts of things win or lose. Whether it is , the performance , the formation , the players chosen, the opposition, the officials, the pitch , the kit , the weather , the away end , the view , the day out , man of the match , who was terrible or was great and on and on and on. None of which are solely to blame . They are part of a match day experience . It’s incredibly lazy to think that anyone here is “blaming the officials” for us losing yesterday . Not read 1 person suggest that. Just move on to a thread you do want to contribute too. The officials along with 99 other things are a relevant discussion point and if you don’t think so then tell Clive to stop scoring them , giving them a paragraph match review and a pre game report then? Sorry I just see people criticised , including myself for talking about this and starting a thread about that. Why? Anyway Rant over . Apologies For what it’s worth , I thought we were schooled first half yesterday . They were much better than us all over the pitch . Can’t say the same for the second half but they did seem to somewhat declare a little after the second goal. Maybe because we were much better I don’t know . We did ok but we just didn’t quite have enough on the day . I suspect we might be saying that again in a few days .

They did yesterday. We never looked like winning once they got the first goal, it was almost like a training ground game for them at some points in the first half. We rarely threatened in the second half, and not at all after we scored the penalty. I thought they did well, allowing Varane to pick the ball up deep knowing he won't/can't create anything. And Varane created naff all.

Got Chair, Frey , Saito, Dembele, Smyth, Lloyd and Yang on the pitch , yet Varane was the one who didn’t create anything . Ok

In your opinion that is.So they didn’t bust a gut trying to get more goals to improve their GD,or to make the game safe, and Wilder was happy to allow them to stroll around once they went in front? Especially with the way we came back at them in August. [Post edited 2 Mar 15:35]

There is no doubt if he was not already booked that was a yellow card all day so yes the ref let it go because he did not want to send him off end of story. I wont mention the resulting free kick that resulted in the usual fast break oppertunity that normally happens . I counted 3 times Dembele went down hard losing posession and getting nothing ,is he just too small or the ref did not give us anything | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Sh*thousery by the Referee on 08:36 - Mar 2 by ted_hendrix | There was I believe 9 minutes of added time basically giving us 99 minutes of football In which to put the football into the Sheffield United's net three time, Ifso factso winning the game. Every week once we've lost a game It's the same old twaddle on here about crap officials. |
Dont know where to start with this. That could be you saying that. Was just highlighting was weird the ref running across the entire pitch with an item thrown from the crowd The label refs sh*thousery joke was said very tongue in cheek. Was joking that the referee was timewasting. Hey ho. Humour cancelled today !!!! Said nothing about the ref costing us the game at all... Words fail sometimes..... 🙃 But crack on with the angry post about something that wasn't spoken about at all !!! [Post edited 2 Mar 19:31]

Sh*thousery by the Referee on 20:43 - Mar 2 with 959 views | Northernr | Don't throw bottles at the linesman then, pretty simple. He was terrible, the referee got played by Choudhury and was out of his depth, but for this specific incident that's on us.
Sh*thousery by the Referee on 22:13 - Mar 2 with 820 views | gazza1 | Give the ref some 'verbals' but throwing stuff onto the pitch is wrong and the person who did do it should apologise.
Sh*thousery by the Referee on 10:18 - Mar 3 with 607 views | TheChef | My random question of the day - now that bottles nominally have the tops attached to them, do they still get removed in football grounds? Do they still do that at LR? Only in the last couple of matches I've been to, at Portsmouth they gave you the bottle with the top on, while at Wembley they removed top. Fascinating stuff I know

Sh*thousery by the Referee on 10:41 - Mar 3 with 527 views | robith | Really don't understand why you'd get banned from something I love to throw something at the lino about a free kick in what ultimately was a nothing game against Sheff Utd. Absolutely moronic. Re R block, no, I'm in PL and it deffo came from near the stairs in the seat in Ellerslie. Where incidentally two home matches in a room I've seen a couple (well, two different couples) being thrown out. What's in the water over there?
Sh*thousery by the Referee on 12:29 - Mar 3 with 445 views | kensalriser | Someone was ejected from one of the front rows in R block on Sat (those who sit nearby will be familiar with him from his proclivity to loud profanity) but I'm not sure if it was connected to the object thrown at the lino.

The current state of affairs, with linesmen running up and down in front of thousands of supporters potentially hurling abuse at them from close range, needs to be looked at. It's no good all round, for the officials or spectators. Not sure what the answer is but the FA needs to fix it.

I've no idea how that ever can be changed, when it's basically been like that in football grounds since forever. Of course it also helps if officials are good at their jobs, that way they're likely to get less abuse!

Sh*thousery by the Referee on 13:35 - Mar 3 with 311 views | qprninja | I was in the Stan Bowles stand for the Sheff Weds game and someone threw a bottle at a Wednesday player in the second half. It was pretty much ignored by the ref and all the players, which surprised me. Such a brain dead thing to do that will only end in penalising the club and potentially getting you banned from the stadium.

He already suffered the distress of not being able to smoke walking down Ellerslie Rd.
