Portsmouth, who are excellent at home, beat QPR, who are ropey away, 2-1 at Fratton Park on Saturday, and if you’d gone there looking for surprises or learnings about either team you’d have left disappointed. 6

Thanks Clive, completely agree with the assessment - frustrating as fark.

Albert Einstein: The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

You could try a CBD bath bomb and a rubdown down with the Sporting Life next time (because we know that is also a known, known). Far less stressful than a trip to an ‘Island’ Tesco, where even the instant coffee is protected by plastic cases embedded with GPS.

I have a question (for everyone) about Marti’s cross hammer hand signal - anyone have a clue what it means ? Comes out late in the game when we are chasing our tails. Seems to be aimed at Cook but related to Dunne playing up front.

Maybe he’s just a closet Iron and hoping to get some attention from Sullivan but I guess it’s a desperate action. I’ve seen the players do it occasionally before corners too but given how shit most of them are I’ve written any logic or connection off.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

Thanks Clive.

Sounds like we got what we deserved, 'null points'.

Despite the grim reading you still managed to make me laugh with the brilliant line,

'Saito, and later Yang Min-Hyeok, were on the end of artillery fire so heavy I thought Lyse Doucet and Orla Guerin were going to rock up and start covering it ...''

You know you're in the sht when those two turn up.

Seeing Clive empty the Tesco Direct of their Peroni suggested this might have been more vicious.

I want it minuted that Jeff's "isn't that a bit excessive for a 90 minute journey?" proved to be entirely unfair criticism.

Cheers Clive - It was one of the rare games I didn't go to or watch on TV or a stream (just about to invest in one of those fire sticks). However the away's I have been to this season are Derby, Leeds, Swansea, Leicester and Millwall and as you say it sounds like rinse and repeat on any of those. That 15 minute spell after half time is rarely any good for us for some reason.

Got my eye on Preston as the next one hopefully the penny will have dropped by then.

Of the ganes we've lost in the last few months I'd say this and Swansea away were the only egregiously poor performances, and even then we could have got a draw Saturday.

It's a shame to give 6 points to a team as limited as Portsmouth, but these results happen multiple times a week to the middle 18 teams in The Championship, and we've struggled a lot against this kind of organised high press set up. I've been boring myself by repeating it, but a player that allows us to play through the middle that also isn't a defensive liability would be priority 1, 2 and 3 on my list for the summer, for exactly these kind of games.

In the meantime I maintain my stance on the Varane OR Field option, never Varane AND Field, and once we're mathematically Championship next season we should start to make some adjustments.

That was the one. He(?) turned left once the train doors opened,so I turned right.Next thing I know he’s come back and taken the seat in front of me.
Then he starts playing his music on the phone just to annoy everyone.Just as we were coming into Waterloo he starts shouting and swearing on a phone call he was taking about beating up his nan when he gets back home.
A really strange character, but it takes all sorts to make a world I guess.

You need to sort your hearing out mate

It sounds like the 3 days off the players begged for and Marti gave them against his better judgement ( going off his pre match interview) really paid off for us .
So frustrating we cannot get back on a roll its killing my top 6 bet which is basically over unless we can pick up 5 or 6 points in this rough stretch coming up now and I certainly cannot see that.
