I'm certainly no Paal hater, and I appreciate it's not his first language, but honestly - he doesn't seem the brightest tool in the box, does he? His interview's only 3 minutes long, but I didn't even make it to the end. Come on, Ken, throw us a bone, man! I'm not asking for Brian Glanville levels of sporting analysis, but is 'taking it game by game' really the best you can do? Today was one game, and your team mates didn't show up, so that cliche isn't even very relevant, is it, if you think about it?
This tendency of our players, and sometimes our manager, seeming to have no idea about why we perform so badly when we do worries me. Wouldn't you think, for your own professional self-respect if nothing else, you'd try to think of something to say before going in front of a camera? It was the same with Field after Swansea, if memory serves. Absolutely shocking first half in particular, but, again, he didn't have a clue as to why.
I must be missing something! These are professionally coached players. Is it they just don't think about their team and what they're doing, or they don't really care?

He drifts inside far too often, leaves 2 on 1 down the right hand side , don’t know whether he’s been instructed to but it’s bloody obvious from where I stand in the lower loft.
that comes from the manager, he asks him to come inside play as an inverted full back

I still can't understand why anyone pays any attention to player/manager pre & post match interviews. The chances of hearing anything other than as positive a spin as they can put on it is remote.
It's like expecting any politician to answer questions, let alone talk truthfully!

Never seen any actual evidence of this, just rumours. Can anyone provide proof? I doubt it.
I don't know how reliable the source was (can't even remember what the source was tbh), but was it not a thing last summer that Paal was going to Watford and we were bringing in an Italian guy to replace him. Then the Italian guy went to Watford instead and we tried to bring Beck in from Liverpool - but he went to Blackburn instead, so we were 'stuck' with Paal. As I say, dunno how much truth in all of that, but if the club tired to move him on before the season started, then I must say I think his conduct has been exemplary all season. He may have made mistakes (and they certainly get highlighted when he does), but he has always been 100% professional in the manner he conducts himself. Personally, I would have no issues if he signed a new contract.
