Went to watch the game tonight. I've seen some of these players before but one or two were new to me.
First half we looked like a well coached team. No-one really stood out but we were well organised and looked to pass the ball well. Perhaps guilty of overplaying once or twice but that's not a terrible thing at this age. No clear cut opportunities on goal, but a couple of well worked half chances and a good long range effort from O'Brien. Deserved to be 1-0 up at half-time, with a handball leading to a penalty right on half time.
Second half started very differently, with Leicester playing on the front foot and pushing us back. We struggled to put our foot on the ball and get our passing going, resorting to clearing our lines and attempting to re-set. Sutton's goal came against the run of play and he took it very well, cutting back onto his right and curling it into the top corner. Leicester continued to work had but we looked comfortable and started to get our passing going again. The rest of the half was very even.
Of the players, Sutton will get the plaudits for his goal, and it was very good. He's still very raw though, and spends most of the game waiting for the ball to come to him. He's a long way off, and needs a lot of work, but that's fine we shouldn't expect 18 year olds to be bursting into the first team, we're a Cat 2 Academy for a reason.
There was a trialist centre back, number 4 with the curly hair, who had a good game. O'Brien and Murphy were our best attacking players, creative and hard working. Dillon worked hard up front and covered a lot of ground but didn't get much service. Lots of talk about Talla in the past, but he's 20 now and looks nowhere near the first team. Nice technique but he made some poor decisions, especially for a deep-lying midfield player.
Leicester, for a PL club, didn't show a lot. Plenty of effort but not much more than that.
All in all, a deserved win and into the quarter finals.

Thanks for the report, Nadera78. What a great result! Although the squad was missing some of its best players, it still managed to get revenge for the seniors' FA cup loss.
Interesting to see Nathan Shepperd in goal for the DS. I don't think he's played for them before.
You said Esquerdinha played and, if so, he'd have been one of the trialists as he's not listed by name in the line up. But we bought him in January from Fluminense, didn't we?
I share your thoughts on Talla, who's been a very good player but his progress seems to have stalled. Also Murphy has always impressed me but I don't think will be retained.

He was DaSilva on the team sheet.

I hadn't realised Murphy had just turned 21. Yeah, I'd expect him to go in the summer in that case. Petrie too.
It was a funny old team in some respects, which you do find at this level, even more so when you have lots of guys out on loan. Shepherd in goal, and then 16 year old Charlie Street coming off the bench.
