I could be wrong but if he works back in the UK within 2 years of leaving his Saudi job he might have to pay a mahoosive amount of tax that wouldn't make taking up a job like that worthwhile.

I think it’s the duration you stay in Saudi that determines the tax (or lack of it).
Minimum stay of two years to pay zero, so maybe he was paid to the end of a contract and is still being paid on ‘dessert’ leave.
That would mean he couldn’t take another job rather than not taking one in the UK.
Henderson was just stupid and had no benefit from leaving so soon. Quite the opposite I suspect. |  |

Looks like Barry Ferguson is set to be appointed until the end of the season at least. Then I guess it might be Gerrard's job if he wants it. Worth noting that Marti doesn't even feature anywhere in the next manager odds. |  |
