Charlie Kelman’s Leyton Orient 12:00 - Feb 8 with 10890 views | DannyPaddox | Up against Man City in the FFS that was offside FA Cup. I prepare to stand corrected but I think Charlie is still our player but as I take as much interest in modern football players contracts and transfers as I do in mobile phone contracts I could be wrong. Either way seems like a good lad and having a decent season with a club I like so up the O’s! Up against a central defender today in Ruben Dias who’s worth approx £75 mil … would love to see Charlie meg him. [Post edited 8 Feb 12:07]

It's easy from our views of seeing Charlie Kelman in a Rangers shirt to write home off as League One Standard. He has seemed to have done well in terms of goals and assists for Orient. My first time watching him this season, did a very decent job for the O's, and looked a threat and obviously up against a top quality defence. Having seen him play today, and with his stats also, i would hope we offer him, a one year contract with the option for a other year extension. If he performs, brilliant and if he doesn't perform, based on this seasons evidence, it would not be too difficult to get him a decent league one loan again, so would not require a massive risk to keep him on. Well done Charlie. Was impressed today. [Post edited 8 Feb 14:26]

Not got the physical strength of Frey. Not got the pace of Lloydd. Not got the technical ability of Kolli. But, as you pointed out, a very intelligent player. I was really impressed with what he did today. Just maybe.......... | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |

Take up the option, that I presume we have, see how he goes in pre season and early season and make a decision to offer an extension or sell. | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |

Good for him, but would never have him back at Rangers. Phoned in a high number of games for us, basically guilty of wage theft. The polar opposite of Dom Ball. | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) |

Yeah, but but it was only in the third tier against a poor relegation threatened side! Let's see what he does against Brum, Wycombe, or Hollywood before we're taking up extensions. | ![](/images/avatars/16575.gif) |

Charlie Kelman’s Leyton Orient on 06:47 - Feb 9 with 1996 views | kernowhoop | Not quite on topic (Kelman) - sorry. But, the FA Cup 4th Round has been turned into a long weekend football festival, largely for TV. Although we are not involved (the club has some sort of long-standing agreement with the FA, not to participate in the competition beyond January), there is something good about this mini festival. If you doubt it from what you have seen so far, then ask Plymouth Argyle. Those that live in the south-west will know what a buzz there is around today's match, which apparently will have a global TV audience. Will non-PL clubs be having a re-think about how they approach the competition in future? | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |

Harsh. Players mature at different and clearly a couple of years in the lower leagues has done him good. I would bring him back next season. Looked better than Celar! Alfie would benefit going the other way for 12 months. | ![](/images/avatars/1527.gif) |

My mate who is a LO ST holder, says he is much improved this season from when they had him before in 2022-23. The stats also seem to bear this out. | ![](/images/avatars/1421.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |

I'm not sure either but do we ever offer a contract without an option? I can't see much logic in giving a player a year's deal only to then loan him to another club and, irrespective of how he performs, he can talk to other clubs in January and leave in July for free. Unless, it was a belt and braces approach. We signed him before we knew what other strikers were available and knew we could recall him in January, if we had an injury crisis with the forwards. I would imagine that there are some costs that are not being covered by Orient and that with our tight control on expense the above rational would be unlikely. Therefore I assume we have an option. | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |

Agree with this. What would be the point of taking up a single year option and then loaning him out for the duration. Just because that’s crazy, doesn’t mean it isn’t exactly what we’ve done. My LO mate thinks he’s OOC this summer. [Post edited 9 Feb 12:38]

A contract without an option used to be more common than otherwise. In these days of Nourry's cards to the chest communications policy, I suppose we're all guessing what's what, which I find very irritating. | ![](/images/avatars/28176.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |
