Governed by madmen/women on 10:40 - Jan 31 with 734 views | Joesus_Of_Narbereth | Instead of building millions of solar panels out in the pristine countryside in the middle of nowhere why don’t they just put solar panels on every house? The only downside I can see from that is that the energy companies won’t be in control of supply and therefore will not be able to make as much mon…. Ohhh….

The Government says it will build 1.5 million houses, each should have a solar panel and heat pump, but it's not the case.

They'll have to cut down the trees they've planted for net zero, so they can build 1.5 million houses.

Hit the nail on the head there. My house is well insulated, I have a modern gas boiler, I use less water due to rainwater capture for the garden plus a water meter, oh and all my electric appliances are low power usage including enough LED lights to cause a world shortage. In essence my house is more efficient than ever yet bills for water and energy have never been higher.

No we’ll take the environmentally friendly option of having millions and millions of trees cut down elsewhere in the world and having them transported by oil ships here.

I've sp[outed the exact same line many times. Solar panels should go on every roof of EVERY building and farmland, if anything, should be increased so we grow our own food and are less reliant in importing it. Maybe that'd bring prices down. It's as if the government wants us to be paying more out. There are a lot of companies making record profits. They all claim it's not because of prices being too high. We are being ripped off left right and centre and the regulators are helping them. Look at OFWAT, the water comoanies have made massive profits since privatising but they've reinvested very little instead taking big pay packets and giving massive share dividends. Now those darn chickens have come to roost, infrastructure is crumbling and what happens...they tell us bills have to rise massively to oay for essential maintenance. Dwr Cymru a 27% rise this year and as much as a 13% rise in the next few years allegedly. [Post edited 31 Jan 18:33]

Governed by madmen/women on 21:44 - Feb 1 with 374 views | Dr_Winston | It's Labour. They'll put as much power as they can into the hands of the utility companies and then Nationalise them so they control it. To their very core they hate people having power over their own lives and property. Employed by the state. Housed by the state. Fed by the state. Owned by the state.

Governed by madmen/women on 23:17 - Feb 1 with 340 views | Scotia | All new homes in Wales have to have solar panels. Solar farms make use of low quality, south facing agricultural land. Usually sheep farms that carry on producing lamb as they graze amongst the panels. Nothing really to see here, usual Telegraph BS.

Which in the case of water, rail and power is very sensible. Likewise Healthcare. How any working class welshman can take a different view is incredible. Google nye bevan and be proud of Labours achievements like the NHS, and the working conditions we all enjoy today. Hard fought for over many years against the usual crowd.

Not by legislation. But usually to meet building regs or planning policies set by local authorities.

Todays Labour is a very different beast to the one that people can be proud of.. Nye Bevan would not recognise todays party, he'd be ashamed of it I reckon. Full of rich people lookingbafter themselves and just a few shades better than the tories. They're both rubiish, they have both ruined this country. We need change, we deserve better.

I think the reason it isn't is cost v benefit in most cases. On some houses they would only work for a small time. Some great houses have been built by a housing association just outside gorseinon. Solar panels, ground source, batteries, insulation the lot. This is the development. https://stridetreglown.com/projects/gwynfaen/ [Post edited 2 Feb 16:51]

Most farmers that I know, and I know a lot, have had free solar panels. Lucky people.

Cover that in the legislation. All new build homes should be designed so they can have south facing foof area with solar panels. All existing homes should be given solar panels where suitable. They want us to go green and they force us to go green but as long as their friends make massive profits. It's total BS.
