Chair - positional change 11:15 - Jan 27 with 3115 viewsDoudou87

Its great having Chair back in the team he has obvious quality and improves our starting 11, but can't help but notice his game has slightly changed and after watching Barry Bannan yet again have a very effective game against us it made me question his position. I'd like to see him play as a central midfielder who much like Bannan drops deep to start our attacking moves. We struggle with creativity in the middle and would free up the left wing for the likes of Saito or even Kolli who have a bit more pace.It does ask the question of who do you drop, but rotation would benefit everyone at this stage.

Poll: Preferred rumoured CB

I think it’s about options, Marti’s success has been his ability to adapt while teaching the boys better football

One of my worries is what do we do if Paal gets injured, other than Fox playing out of position. We could do unorthodox Pep 3-2-4-1: Morrison-Cook-Dunne, Field-Varanne, Saito-Chair-Morgan-Smyth, Frey

Yes, it’s all a bit gamer manager, but possible?

If Paal gets injured either Colback (played LB over 50 times), Fox (played LB more than CB) or Ashby would be selected. Not ideal I grant you, but better than reshaping the entire team.

We could just play a selection of four centre backs across the line as we did before but it’s not ideal against most teams and suspect when facing any form of pace and guile on the wing. I also think Colback would be exposed at left back these days.

Maybe we can welease Wonnie (Edwards) the wobber to one side if necessary but I guess he also favours the wight. Wabscallion !

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

I said at half time to my mate, they should drug test him now, I bet he wouldn't be playing the second half if they did.

That's a bit of an envious slur, no? I think he's just a really good player at this level, and probably fitter than any of our players to boot.

Poll: Keep our 12 game pts return going, and it's a 73 pt finish! Playoffs?
