Alright Connell you made me do this!

Pretty sure my record on these is not great so I think this is a bit of a free hit, post Plymouth trek.

I'll take a point now.

Thanks and sorry in advance.

Poll: How old is everyone on here?

A couple of months ago, we'd have been lucky to win a corner here, let alone all 3 points. The whole squad is pulling together, from the senior pros through to the youngsters just learning their trade. There is a real buy-in across the team and we've still got JCS, Cook, Celar and Morrison to return, which will feel like a bunch of new signings.

Marti is getting so much right at the moment and the team is just oozing confidence. They don't panic anymore: winning is definitely a habit.

'What do we want? We don't know! When do we want it? Now!'

We were bottom of the league less than 2 months ago. The turnaround has been incredible, the buy-in from the fans and the players has been great to see. Onwards and upwards

The pile on on both of them has been embarrassing.
Cifuentes brought them on for two attacking players and naturally we dropped back and invited pressure.

I think the problem with Ashby is that he's too high risk. Marti has got this squad so well drilled now that everyone knows their role, where they should be and what they should be doing. Ashby is chaos personified. He had a couple of decent games for us but every time he's on the pitch now he feels like an accident waiting to happen. I wouldn't be surprised if we cut our losses and got someone else in during the window.

Well, that was just delightful. Lovely Saito goal. Lloyd’s recent performances have been crucial to us seeing out games.

Ashby though, he’s having a bit of a mare at the moment and Madsen Without Leave… less said the better.

Anyway, another blooming win! Would be nice to stick one on Wednesday for once and keep the wheels rolling!!

When we went 2 up I opened another beer thinking I could relax.. but we don't do that do we.. but so pleased we saw that out..

Great seeing Fox come back after that 1 awful game and put in some consistent performances and be part of a winning team after many totally wrote him off.
First time I have ever really felt Chair was not doing enough, usually my favorite player, but we improved a lot today with that change.. and I was happy to see him at the end pushing Saito towards the fans to get applause...team player, he'll be back.
Alfie was brilliant, everything stuck to him, whereas nothing stuck to Kolli first half, and he was a real outlet.
a game with little shine, but a couple of great goals..

Great result

Ashby was poor. But Madsen did nothing wrong. You can’t judge him in this game based on other performances. Field and Nardi were probably at fault for the goal.

I saw one thing wrong but this is really in his favor. Overall he did pretty wall with the only objection was once up the pitch Alfie was struggling one on one and Madsen was close by, just stood there instead of coming in and offering help

I call this good because it shows me he still has his deer in the headlights moments at times but not all the time or most of the time as he’s shown us…he really really is improving because so many other points in the match he’s making the quick action, right action.

So he’s getting better, and that’s the most important thing. He’s smart, he passes very well. Let’s see if he can learn to get stuck in to where the matches are won and lost

I just wonder if the almost universal "Oi! No! Marti's going nowhere!" from the fans (even though we were bottom) had any influence on the finger being removed from the trigger?

Who knows but I think we can all pat ourselves on the back anyway, we know a good QPR manager when we see one.

Onwards and upwards, we're in the single digit positions now. It's a funny old game.

Yes! And i'm going to be in agreement and disagreement with all of the options - and i'll argue the toss with any man who says that says inconsistent

A game with so little quality it’s was staggering at times but I don’t care …what a win and what a team . We are grinding results out . It’s great to see .

The Saito goal though is a beauty. Absolutely chuffed for him . What a goal!!
Lloyd changed the game and that is huge . Big, strong mobile and growing in confidence.
There is something about him isn’t there ? It was a masterstroke the first set of subs .

The second set….not so much .
I know the ‘party line’ will be the Ashby has a knock or whatever but I’m not so sure .
I think that was MC saying enough is enough . Could be wrong and some people on here will say I’m wrong . Fair enough .
But he was so bad when he came on he was going to cost us the win. Gave the ball away every single time he had it . Every time .
Madsen got 1 block in on the edge of our box . Otherwise he was a ghost ..an apparition …unfortunately a waste of space . Down to 10 men basically .
I think he needs a loan to gather himself , get his mojo back , start to try to gain experience in a league that isn’t walking football and then we can try again next season .
Clearly a footballer in there…sadly I thinking it’s a five a side footballer .

Impressed with Varane tonight . Jimmy again very good and man of the match for me was Ronnie Edwards.
Exceptional .

Come on now lads. Let’s give that ferret Bannon some clog Saturday and beat them for a change.
You Supa…..

This and other comments feel harsh on Madsen. People seem to think he was equally as bad as Ashby which just clearly wasn’t the case. He worked hard, didn’t really do anything wrong. Yet Varane, a player I like, regularly refused to consider travelling forward with the ball or hitting a forward pass and is lauded on here as having a great game. Yes he did some good bits but also some naivety to his game which is ignored.

It was a great battling effort with not much quality on show with perhaps the exception of Edwards who looks classy. Was impressed with all the defence and Saito and Lloyd. Nobody really deserves too much criticism with perhaps only Ashby that really struggled. Not sure why there’s a bit of a pile on with Madsen after that tbh. He’s had a lot worse and less interested performances.

Strange game played seemingly on a farmers recently ploughed field. I thought Morgan was terrific, Fields worse game for sometime (every pass was backwards!)but looked like we were on for a draw at best and possibly a loss until the subs changed the game. Well deserved goal for Paal who has hit form since the return of Chair whose defensive work often goes unnoticed. Great 2nd half from Varane as well. Lloyd caused carnage and Saito had his best minutes for the club and they will get the plaudits however we defended really well and ultimately I have to give MOTM to ... Christian Nourry.

Because that 1st Jan deal to bring in Ronnie Edwards won us that game today. JCS out again we would have had to start with Dunne and Ashby (who has fallen off a cliff since Xmas). He was superb as was Fox as was Dunne as was Paal

Yeah perhaps . Maybe slightly harsh but patience has run out .

There was one passage of play where the Hull midfielder was advancing slowly through the middle of the park and Madsen refused to engage . He was the nearest player to the guy but remained 20 yards away …backed off …backed off until he was in the back 4!!!!

He doesn’t want to know for me and it’s frustrating.
You might be right and that ‘situation’ annoyed me so much it clouded my overall judgement of his performance but how low does his bar have to be to suggest he ‘did well’ this evening ?

He was a body . That’s it . Well done to him

Four wins in a row, the last two of which away and a major point of conversation is digging out the two late subs. We're a strange fanbase.

Ashby just looked really poor as he did against Leicester and Madsen a player frightened of his own shadow, if he could find it.

I had the exact same reaction to that Madsen moment. Clearly, delighted at how well it’s all going right now and long may it continue, but it’s almost more stark when you see Jimmy Dunne shoving Alfie Lloyd (best game in a QPR shirt) to celebrate him winning a free kick and Madsen moving about as he does…

Lots of this is preconceptions, and I am as guilty as anyone.

Varane didn't have a brilliant start with us but toughed it out and worked hard when we we sh*t - that paid dividends when we started that slightly lucky run, because that sort of effort and grit can make the difference between a fluky 1-0 win and 1-1 or 1-2.

He's getting credit for that now even if he makes the odd mistake.

Madsen hasn't earn it yet. Maybe people are being a bit harsh, and I will always be looking for evidence that he is decent, because we need all the assets we can get. To do that we need more than "didn't screw things up", we need to see him change a game. For example, if at 2-0 he had been able to calm things down, hold the ball and take pace out of the game.

The turnaround is nothing short of amazing but let's keep our feet on the ground as we haven't blown anyone away and we could've easily drawn the last two games. The suggestion though that we can't say anything negative because we won....I don't know, we'll have to agree to disagree.

We are QPR, we have a history of grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory and even though we were 0-2 up with 15 to go, the sight of Madsen and Ashby warming up sent a shiver down my colon. I feared the worst because that's what we do and seeing Ashby ping the ball as hard as he could to no one in particular didn't ease the shivering. We won though, which is the main thing, but there's still room for improvement and I don't have a problem with people pointing out where we need to make those improvements.

Kolli had his day last week, today's was Saito's. Well done that man.

For me it was an observation rather than a major issue.
The main issue and always will be winning matches.

But I think fans are entitled to chat about what they see be it good or bad. Just because we won does that mean we can’t talk about bits that didn’t go well?

Plenty of joyous positive chat all over the the message board so not sure why it’s being made into such a big deal by some . The first set of subs were brilliant , the second set of subs who came on were poor .

What’s the issue in that ?

The reason Madsen gets (justifiable) stick is things like this, where he's jogging about, going through the motions, 10 yards behind the play while other players - in this case a kid we got for nothing from Yeovil - are busting a gut to run and close and tackle.

Looks like the Hull player tried to kick Alfie in that follow through for the initial hit or am I just seeing things .Springing him from the bench to run around like his hair is on fire is just so funny and very effective.Marti has figured out the best way to seal wins and Alfie taking on half their team at their end of the field is a thing of beauty
