The ego on Ange and how stubborn is he. Yes it's great wanting to play a certain way as he puts it the risk is worth the reward when it comes off. However all risk and no reward. Constantly making the same mistakes and won't change a thing. They would probably fair better if they didn't have so many injuries, with players purchased for the style he wants to play. With lesser players though. His stubbornness will cost him his job and his ego when questioned, wow he doesn't like it

I watched the last 20 mins or so of this evening's match, when Everton looked to hold onto their 3-0 lead. They allowed Spurs enjoy a lot of possession, but didn't allow them many chances to score. What really surprised me was watching when Everton did have possession, that their midfielders found an awful lot of space between the Spurs midfielder and defence. That shouldn't happen at any level in professional football.

I don't think he's particuarly egotistical, and I admire anyone who has a vision for how they want to play. He also changed it up defensively (even if it didn't work), so he's not inflexible. From the BBC website:

'Postecoglou did not attempt to duck the issue, saying: "I have the responsibility of the group of players. I do have to try and get us through this and that's what I've got to focus on. For me to focus on anything else is abstaining myself from the responsibility I have. My belief doesn't waver. We are in a pretty extreme situation with injuries. If you look at the situation we're in, it will eventually dissipate. I certainly hope and believe it will."'

He's in a not dissimilar situation to where Marti was with us a couple of months back, and I actually hope he comes good because he wants to play entertaining football.

Poll: Keep our 12 game pts return going, and it's a 73 pt finish! Playoffs?

I do like Ange and it probably won't happen but it would be the most hilarious thing ever to see that stadium hosting Championship football, full of Korean tourists for a 12.30 kick-off against Stoke.

Totally get that but sometimes you need to take a step back to back to start moving in the right direction again. He doesn't need to give up on his principles just a tweak here and there just to get them going again. I don't think it's giving up on your principles but just adaptability to give the team some confidence.

Principles are all well and good when you're winning, but I'd rather win first and get principles later.

Sport, after all, is fundamentally about winning.

I did not like his attitude to a pretty standard question the reporter asked but losing is rough on everyone look at us a few months ago.
Spuls are down 11 first team players according to NBC sports and leaking goals like a sieve .
Leicester City lost both of the must win league games after kicking the crap out us last Saturday so the heat will be on RVN pretty soon I suspect as well as Ange

Are you Alan Shearer in disguise?

No, it isn't, it's about playing with joy and creativity, entertaining, and trying to win.

Even though we didn't win in 1976, I still think we won the season morally, and I'd rather have been us playing as we did, and finishing runners-up, than that merely efficient Liverpool machine.

Ange, is no different to Russell Martin. Managers are paid to find a way to win football matches, not bask in their own ego and glory.
Ask any football fan what they would prefer; top of the league winning 1-0, or struggling losing 3-2 every week? I'll take winning thanks.

Well we tried to win at Leicester last week, got beat 6-2, and you spent the entire following week throwing an enormous strop about it.

Contradictory as ever Mr SE

that is possibly one of the daftest things stated on here; which takes some doing.

if we had won the title in 76 that would have gone down as 1 of the greatest club achievements ever; nobody apart from us cares that we finished second as the great entertainers.

at any point in our history I'd have taken a cup of any sort, by any means necessary.

I dunno, maybe if R's had ground out just one 1-0 instead of a loss then we would have won that year, I doubt anyone would have remembered the one duff game

Personally I think Ange is a breath of fresh air In football especially in the antiseptic world of the PL.

Spurs problems are far bigger then the managers.

I'm convinced the Spurs fans are a huge part of their problem. Huge over entitlement and never happy, never satisfied. They didn't want Nuno EspΓrito Santo from the off, he wasn't considered a big enough name and the club sacked him off after 17 games. Look at him now.

They've had Conte and Mourinho and neither of them could get a tune and the fans wanted them gone.
Ange Postecoglou doesn't appear to abide by the fans bullish*t, rightly called them out when they were more instereted in Arsenal not winning the league then their own team winning. It's been kind of fractured since then. He'll be gone soon enough. They've burnt through so many managers. They deserve a relegation.

If we had won the league that season then Liverpool couldn't have won their first European Cup in 1977.

The history of the game in this country might have been very different.

A real sliding doors moment. At least for them!

Bloody Norwich!!
