In all the excitement just remembered . We are playing Arsenal shortly. Anyone know any way to follow the game? Arsenal’s first team will be playing at the same time, so zero on their site. It’s a big game for our youngsters.
Just back - great game The young R's were in charge first half - Arsenals goal against the run of play - deserved to be well ahead by HT but went in 1-1 Our 2nd came early after HT, but Arse gradually imposed themselves and equalised late 2nd half Extra time, R's flagging, Arse subs v good and took the lead. R's dragged themselves level 3-3 with Suttons hatrick goal Pens then, always a lottery, Arse England keeper the difference saving two Proud of the young R's, they fought hard and nearly dumped Arse out - some promising lads there for our future
Thanks for the report, Herts.

Sutton is surely a real prospect. Currently on loan with Hanwell Town, so getting exposure to men's football.
A candidate for First Team squad in next 2 years? Any others?

Think Sutton is a bit older, has played for our 21s, was our best player on the night and might follow Kolli/Lloyd/Morgan They all worked hard last night, 120 mins at 16/17 is tough, the 9 Hassan(?) is a big strong lad and kept going all night. I reckon some deserve pushing into 21s next year, too early to judge the rest for 1st team yet , but for me Sutton, Neil, Street & Coombes stood out last night
Apparently Arse's keeper who has some England experience got a red after the previous game but was still allowed to play and saved 2 pens in the shootout
I think Sutton turns 18 later this season so still very young, looks a fine prospect whenever I've seen him, including for the dev squad. If there is nothing left to play for at the end of the season, I wouldn't be surprised if he is involved with the first team a little bit for some exposure.

Sutton turned 18 in December. I think him, Neil, Hassan, Coomes and Tarbotton have all had games with Dev Squad. Hence, why a weakened U18s and a young DS have struggled for much of this season.

As well as a very creditable performance last night the other positive was the support.I was running late and walking to the ground knowing Arsenal were one up. Still a good few minutes from the stadium I heard a massive cheer in the dark night air and assumed Arsenal had gone two up. It was the Rs equalising. Great support all through the club at the moment.

Excellent.

With Nourry saying if by 17/18 a lad is not pushing to be involved with the development/1st team squad they will, in affect, be released I think we will see the u18s and DS continue to struggle. A lot of fast tracking, loans at 16/17 which is already happening, moving up age groups. It can only be good.

To be fair, this is standard practice across all clubs. Promote and fast track your best prospects through the age groups. Extremely odd that we weren’t doing it until now. And given that all clubs do it, it’s not an excuse why the u18s are bottom of the league. Because every other club is in the same boat whereby their best youngsters are “playing up”. It’s a level playing field.

Is this true?
How can it happen?
I've no idea how the law is worded or why they don't have to change the 'keeper, but this isn't the first time this has happened.
I'm sure the lawmakers applied some logic in implementing this, but it's outside of my understanding!

I think it's a brilliant idea to be honest , create a conveyer belt all the way to the first team.
AND WHEN I DREAM , I DREAM ABOUT YOU AND WHEN I SCREAM I SCREAM ABOUT YOU!!!!!

If this is true then Nourry must get on the case. Admin misdemeanour’s like foul throws kids must learn early. And I know Nourry reads and contributes to this board. His nom de plume is Stainrod’s arsegrease

Indeed you're right, I was looking at the wrong place for his age it seems! Still, just turned 18, had a bit of mens football under his belt and playing like that against some of the countries elite youngsters, won't be too long before he's involved,
