Just back 16:34 - Jan 11 with 2920 views | slmrstid | Glad to be back in the warm 20 minutes after that! Didn't really go to plan did it? I've never been to a game where I genuinely could not see large parts of the game. The fog was ridiculous. Weird game. I've seen us get battered many times and thought how horrendous we are, I actually thought we mostly played ok for large parts, but gave away cheap chances and got punished repeatedly, we probably got away get away with some of them against Championship players. At 1-1 we were well on top, two stupid goals given away in quick succession, get back in it, then put ourselves in trouble straight after half time. Frustrating. Harrison Ashby won't be reliving that game in a hurry for sure. Oh well, always next year. [Post edited 11 Jan 16:35]

Just back on 16:38 - Jan 11 with 2838 views | Paddyhoops | Seen the highlights . Competed well up until half time . Ashby had his usual mishap and sadly got punished . The four goal gap is similar to the hidings half decent championship sides like Norwich and West Brom are getting at the moment. Gap is getting bigger and bigger. It’s nothing new .
Just back on 16:51 - Jan 11 with 2706 views | Lanhoop | Was pretty pointless with fog like that but from the little I could see we played ok for periods but we gave the ball away casually so many times and always in bad areas leaving Walsh exposed. I don’t think he did much more than pick the ball out of his net but he wasn’t left much chance.

Very much kept behind them the whole game.

Fans were class today stayed with the team throughout. I along with loads of others even stayed to the end to clap the players off which is unheard off after a 6 v 2 defeat. No need to get on thier backs after recent results.

The support were fantastic -first time I've ever shouted 'Rooney, Rooney' at a match. Thanks for the parking tips also. I ended up in the Saffron Lane Athletics Stadium car park, easy to find and quick to get in and out.

Yes as mentioned elsewhere thank you for the parking tips - I parked in Marlow Road with no issues and just a brisk 20 minute walk to the stadium. Easy to get back on the M1 too. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Just back on 22:21 - Jan 11 with 1332 views | Malintabuk | Not sure if my tolerance levels are improving or I'm just getting old... but I don't normally feel this Zen after us getting tanked 2-6 Not long home. I have to say I was amazed that wasn't abandoned... it was ridiculous ..... Had to give the likes of Dunne, Morgan and Smythe a rest today. So wasn't that too surprised about the team, and the concensus around us was about the same. In that first half honestly there was never a feeling we mugged the game off, in fact the opposite I thought that team played pretty well and was up for it. Kholli, Chair, Varane, were very impressive. Unfortunately we made some real errors. In all honestly the at the ground I couldn't even see the first goal go in, and couldn't tell you who messed up for the other 2, but reading the forum I guess it was Ashby The defence just fell apart the second half. No real leaders in that defence without Naardi, Cook, Dunne and Fox. Am I glad I went, for the noise, and the Rooney chant it was worth it. For the game not so sure. I'm now going to bed and well amazed how I'm not totally p!ssed off about this. I guessed as with all things QPRard..... im also FACard
Just back on 22:40 - Jan 11 with 1233 views | dmm | Quite probably the strangest game I've ever seen - actually hardly seen at all - owing to the fog. That drab mustard kit meant we were all but invisible - we should have worn the black kit. And why was an orange ball not used? Then there was the ice on the underside of the roof slowly melting resulting in large drops of ice water dropping on us throughout while we stood in absolute brass monkeys weather trying to keep ourselves from slipping on ice underfoot. And, of course, the score line... Found a great little pub after the game though.
Just back on 06:14 - Jan 12 with 815 views | davman | EVERYTHING was surreal yesterday. I was out for a works do on Friday night and had to get home from t'north, so I thought I'd go via Leicester. As a result, I was on my lonesome, which was strange in itself. Other things: 1. Pre-match - playing music at full volume drowning (or trying to drown) any crowd noise. And THOSE videos; yeah, you won the Premier and those cups and got to a CL QF, we get it. How long will they be going on about it though? Forest vibes there; great achievement, but yawn... 2. The fog. WOW. It just dampened any noise in the ground down and we could see nothing up the other end. Can remember playing in pea soupers as a kid, but never watched a game like it. The pen took ages for me to realise what it was for starters. Our bland kit and that ball were invisible. 3. Their fans - utterly silent. This is what happens when you play your pre-match music so loud. If they were singing, I genuinely don't know; could hear NOTHING from them whatsoever. 4. Our lot - "We can't see the ball, we can't see the ball, Leicester is a shithole, we can't see the ball" a particular highlight. Inevitably after being asked not to, many HAD to join in with the Chelsea Rent Boy song; bit sad really. But gallows humour as the goals rolled in. 5. The cold. I had inappropriate footwear on and couldn't feel my toes after 20 mins. The condensate from the roof kept dripping back down and refroze on the floor in front of me. Very treacherous under foot - dangerous. So, at 5-2 faced with a longish drive home and no way back in the game, I left. I wasn't angry, I wasn't storming out, I just could not think of a reason to stay where I could not see the game. A very bizarre day out...

Mate, they won the Premier League, of course they show videos pre-match about it. And why shouldn't they go on about it relentlessly? It's quite possibly the greatest achievement in all sport. Have you seen our pre-match video? We've got pictures of Gareth bloody Ainsworth scoring in League One against Carshalton or something. If we ever won anything (ho ho ho) I would want that in the pre-match video on loop.

I got almost as wet yesterday as I did on NYD,and I was towards the back of the stand.Whether it was the flames or the heat generated by the fans in the stadium,it only started dripping around ko time and continued for a lot of the game. I heard some people say that the stewards put salt on the steps in some areas, but the never came round to our section, and we had stewards having to escort people safely down the steps. The stairway to our left had metal grooves in it to improve the surface,so why couldn’t they do that on all of them? I honestly think that the game shouldn’t have gone ahead yesterday with the foggy conditions at ko time, but once it started,it was going to be completed. Funny how the ref gave a penalty against Ashby when he couldn’t see an Ipswich handball on a clear night in 2023. I’d liked to have seen a couple of subs at ht as we still had a chance to turn it around, but it’s all academic now. Well done to all the travelling fans for their support of the team on the day.
