Actually, no offense but I don't think this is true. You have a selection for depressed/mad, and then 5 selections for people to choose from who dont care much. Players needed rest, ambivalent, etc., are all the same things basically. So I read the current results as 61% don't really care that much (for a few reasons) and 39% are depressed/mad.

Thanks for that. I'll try to do better next time with my spread of answers and calibrating these in even more nuanced ways. (Perhaps you could start a poll about how/why my polls are sub=optimal?)

In the meantime, it's informative to see you think 39% of our fans (or those on here, just in case that's still not clear to anyone) are 'mad'.

I watch every single QPR game on a club feed/stream (with multiuple camera angles and replays etc etc), and then often again on the website/BBC, so I've no idea why you're another who seems to know more about my life than I do. Defend like we did today in the Champ, and for me we get our pants pulled down - maybe not 6-2, but we lose that game. That's my opinion, and you're welcome to disagree of course, but that's all we're sharing either way.

If anything, though, what you say is actually ballast for us playing a full-strength side, which Marti decided not to, and brings me back to my down vote in the poll with the other 50%.

40% and falling now. 🤣

On the train back towards London now. Yes we made grave errors today but find it incredible that those who have the most to say about Marti, in particular, are the ones not there.

Anyway, key points:

- 4500 there were brilliant, the noise at times in the away end was deafening. You couldn't see us but everyone could certainly hear us. Proud to be among them with my boy.

- the fog was ridiculous, the game absolutely should have never gone ahead. There were times in the first half where we couldn't see anything and that had to play a part in the game.

- not making subs at half time killed us. Kolli's goal just before half time but we weren't able to build on it when madsen and Ashby were left on. This is obviously Marti's mistake but I'm with the man, no matter what.

- playing with Madsen is like playing with 10 men.

We have to not let this turn into a hangover that seeps into the next games, which are massive for us. Same old FA cup performance as a Ranger. We survived Vauxhall Motors and will do the same again here.

Genuine question: Why would you/anyone be with Marti (or any man) 'no matter what'? Once again, we're following a football club, not a cult.

Your first paragraph is the football internet in a nutshell .

Disappointing but we move on.

Especially after reading the thread about Andrew .

With Marti 'no matter what' because it was one game in the FA cup and is not indicative of his managerial ability overall. We are lucky to have Marti and I will continue to appreciate what he continues to do for our club.

Have a good evening all.

Because he is the best thing at the club currently. That's why he gets his name sung by the fans at every game, home or away.

But as you never go, you wouldn't know.

1000% the best thing at the club but he deserves criticism for today and like the poster said above changes should have been made at HT

Massive opportunity to give Leicester a game and we fluffed it

Anyway we will do it all again next week for Plymouth

Totally agree. Marti will make mistakes and we are right to question descisons as he probably will himself. He is human after all but I believe his positives weigh out the occasional negatives.

Why does the view that he's the 'best thing at the club 'currently (if one assumes that for the sake of argument) preclude reasonable criticism of e.g. his team selection today? I'm glad Marti has a decent groundswell of support among matchday fans, but why does that mean I and others here can't put forward any number of more nuanced or complex views, which can include - here's a blood-curdling thought - both praise AND criticism? (As, blow me down with a feather, I did myself recently, when praising him for bringing on the likes of Morgan and Varane while still insisting he is clearly learning on the job and getting some things badly wrong!) Or perhaps you think I should just sing or say things because a lot of others do.

As for putting down an overseas fan for, uh, living overseas (who, to repeat, watches every game at least once on a variety of media and reads a great deal of reportage on all things QPR) well, I'll leave that where it belongs.

I'm genuinely surprised anyone is angry at the result. Disappointed, sure, especially those who made the trip. But we all knew it wouldn't be a full strength team and we also knew we would probably lose as soon as we saw the Leicester team.

No manager gets sacked for losing a cup game and until that changes, strongest sides will not feature.

It's weird isn't it? Genuinely curious how/ why he made the subs when he did...

Optics ..he had to look as though he was trying to save the game .

The number of tickets sold affected his starting line up and subs IMO

He had to toss it of while looking as if he gave a toss.

If we have no new injuries he will sleep easy tonight

But why does said manager give it large about changing the club's cup 'culture' (which makes me think of a bacterial culture) and trying to win every game etc. etc.? Is that OK too when it's clearly not true?

That's what it looks like to me too.

Just seen the post-match interview, where he says he's frustrated at the misstakes. Nothing about the selection, subs, or unsettling the side before we kicked off.

I'm also curious as to what he thinks we need to 'learn' from the game, which he also mentioned without expanding on it. Perhaps not taking out your best players and playing your newest and/or worst might be a plausible first lesson, but I must be missing the 'data', I guess.

I watched online today and these are my thoughts

First half we were excellent, I feel their goals were kind of just errors on our part, they had two lucky goals first half.

Happy for Varane for his goal, bloody brilliant.

2nd half went downhill after the penalty... looking at the replay Ashby didn't intentionally hand ball it. Feel Ref was overly pedantic.

Wheels then fell off the bus going forward.

Overall had that penalty not been given the result would've been way different I feel.

They had the better over us in counter attacking.

Don't rate Leicester as a team at all and reckon they'll be joining us next year in Championship football.

We were the better team in the first half... Second half after pen a total shambles.

Our attitude to the trophy competitions, is why our 'honours' list is so pathetic.

Yeah because if MC picks Dunne, Smyth , Morgan and Nardi today , we’d be everyone’s favourite to win the cup this year !

Give over

No, probably not, but the team over the last few weeks may have a)given us a chance to beat Leics and b) may, no matter what, got the experience of stepping up a little more.

I'd suggest that team today did nothing moral and learning wise from the normal first team.

You gel as a team, not as 50% strangers.

Agree - Leicester played their strongest team while we rested a few. After the first 10 minutes, most of which I couldn't see, I thought we played some of the best football i've seen from the Rs this season. Thought Varane, Paal and Chair were all excellent. Let's face it, they were ruthless punishing our mistakes. Even the 6th could have been avoided. 6 shots on target 6 goals. No mistakes from Walsh but I reckon Nardi would have stopped a couple. Penalty was just unfortunate. Dunne would have blocked a couple and would have caused havoc from corners. I was actually encouraged by the performance. The stats showed it was fairly level game except the goals -commentator on the stream I was watching said the result was cruel on Rangers.

We're definitely going in the right direction.

Because we had 4500 going today so the manager had a duty to show the fans some respect and for me he hasn't done that

Watch us lose at Plymouth next week after "resting" some players as well

Fed up with how we toss away these cup games

Benham's stats guys have crunched all the figures back to the year Dot, and concluded that Cup runs are a distraction from league form. (This is probably more so when you have a small squad?).

And for Benham, the league is everything, since without PL football, Brentford are quite simply unsustainable at Championship level or below, even with the new stadium etc.

While mere survival is the glass-half-empty view. The glass-half-full view notes that each PL place is worth an extra £3m. By contrast, the prize money for winning the FA Cup is £2m. (Ok, Europe as well, but if you get as far as the Final but lose, it's £1m)

Meaning that should Bees go all out for the Cup, suffer extra injuries, suspensions or fatigue etc, such that eg you draw your next league game which you might have expected to win (or lose when expected to draw), those dropped points could easily cost a league place.

None of which makes it any less of a bitch after you've just lost 1-0 at home to Plymouth.
