Some beautiful crosses but he's yet to get back to his level, which is not a bad thing as a) we're learnt not to be so reliant on him and b) there's more to come which it surely will. It's all looking rather bright at the moment eh?

Thought he had his best game for us tonight since coming back. Put some glorious crosses in and covered some ground doing defensive duties.
Good to see him coming back. Does he play Saturday?

Agreed.
Thought he was excellent.
I usually pick a Top 3 R's for every game. He's nearly always in it, and he was again tonight.

Another assist and also created chance of the match

I think he’s doing great and please to have this future qpr legend in our team. Yep 250 odd appearances for us and I think he’s approaching legendary status for us

Chair still getting back to match fitness and not back to his best yet.
Behind Morgan, Frey, Field for me and on a par with Fox and Dunne.

"Ilias Chair (27y 68d) is the youngest player to reach 250 appearances for #QPR since Alan McDonald (26y 198d) in April 1990."

Another Supple-tastic stat.

Hope he's still here on the 1st February 2025.

Yeah, he's been out for ages, he'll be back. Thought he was fantastic until the end where he faded a bit.

Congrats to Illy on his 250th appearance. Amazing and he's still only 27. As he says, here's to the next 250. Fabulous player.

Never knowingly right.

He looks fairly off the pace, but man, has he only been working on crossing in his absence? His delivery is unreal rn

He is also instrumental in the improvement in Ken Paal's game too. They had a good understanding of when to go and when to stay and their fast interplay, whilst not, flawless, was better than most on the pitch. Their defensive efforts were also worthy of mention too.
For the 1st 30 minutes I was considering Paul Smyth as a contender for MOTM but just before the eye injury he looked like he'd blown a head gasket. He had seriously run out of steam, perhaps the toll for the effort he has been putting in recently.
High praise for Morgan, Lloyd and Saito too, we are really starting to enjoy
a full squad of players now.
Well done too to the supporters who, for the most part, got behind the team and evidenced by the number who stayed behind to belt out Hi Ho QPR.
Only gripe was the no. of fans griping about us playing out from the back; it's how we play now, get over it. Probably the people who moaned about Gazball.

The grass is always greener.

Not sure if it stands up to scrutiny, but my impression in last few games is that he’s been prepared to cross far earlier than he used to, and in particular to go to the byline and cross with his left. It makes us much harder to defend against as defences don’t have time to reset.

His ability to dribble and keep the ball is extremely valuable but I was impressed by how he often moved the ball quickly, providing some excellent crosses. I honestly can't remember him crossing as well as that before. Great stuff 👏

Yes, Frey MOM for me. Scored, close to another, pulled their defence around making space, was both a link man spreading the ball about from midfield and hold up/target man up front. Tired a bit 2nd half but he had an excellent game. Chair ,getting better, Morgan, Field, Nardi and Dunne all had pretty good games.

Been a long-time frustrated fan of Chair but, end product-wise, I think he's on his best run of form I can recall in a very long time,

Obviously not match-fit & collapsed in exhaustion on full-time whistle but it seems his lack of match fitness has improved his decision making and made him less prone to hang on to the ball and beat his man, once, twice and three times,

Seems to recall a similar worldie cross very late in a home game (maybe against West Brom or Swansea, possibly to Austin) where he could'nt run another yard, so stopped, got his head up and played in a cross similar to those in recent games,

Couple of superb assists in recent games and cross to Dunne was deserving of another last night,

Also took his man on the outside last night a couple of times and went for the early left-footed cross, so being much less predictable to defend against,

Similar to the improvement in Smyth with his cut-back crosses, really think Cifuentes is beginning to unlock Chairs real potential.

Chair has performed at a very high level for this club for a number of years. The best indicator of that being the number of professionals from other clubs who have on a number of occasions remarked on his ability, football intelligence, threat he poses and end product.

His contribution to our survival last season from MC's appointment: 7 goals and 6 goal assists (8 in total) attests to that and compared very favourably with nearly all players in the league fulfilling a similar role. Dewsbury-Hall being the most notable exception, who had a higher calibre of striker to provide goal assists aplenty.

Could he be better still? Of course, but let's not diminish his end-product contributions from previous seasons, as acknowledged by his fellow peers from other clubs.

Smyth has a long way to go before reaching the levels of Ilias Chair.

I thing the best indicator of a player is the number and value of transfer bids for that player by the maybe 100+ clubs in that market.

End product wise his numbers were very poor last year and only picked up when Willock returned to the side.

I"m hoping recent marked increase in early crossing with his right and left is down to Cifuentes's coaching and finally getting him to realise his potential.

I thought Chair, especially second half, was excellent. He still appears to be not quite match fit yet, but his contribution was fantastic.
I've noticed he appears to be standing very far wide, almost getting his boots white on the touchline.

I love watching him play, and yes he can be frustrating, but I'm pretty sure that's because he cares too much and tries to do too much. He has carried this team for near on 18 months, but now he has players around him who can share the burden.

I can't wait to see him playing with Dembele and Celar. Real pace and movement.
