But I’m replying to this post in particular for a reason.

To be fair, people in football always turn their noses up at people who weren’t in football.

I'd like to know what Anderlecht think of him. The bloke has been working in football for two years maybe and he is dropping in quotes like the Anderlecht one.

Nourry does write in a slightly detached way. And his,manner is very autistic in its delivery.
That's not a criticism.
It's merely how the way the piece is written comes across. Lucky that our upturn in form has provided the right time to put this out.

I read his address and found it well-written, informative and reasonably reflective while maintaining the mostly positive 'spin' one would expect from any official statement of this kind. Its timing is neither here nor there. I work as a professional editor and, if I were evaluating his text, I'd probably change very little of it. (By contrast, for the record, Marti has taken to telling us he has his 'thoughts' about the players and our injury record but he isn't going to share them, which is apparently perfectly ok with some.)
Nourry's tone, given his position, is also fine overall. As a person with family members on the spectrum, I would, however, be genuinely interested to know what you mean by calling it 'very autistic' if you'd care to elaborate. [Post edited 27 Dec 3:31]

I have worked with Autistic adults for many years, and have friends with Aspergers.
The tone is staccato and nerd like, not criticism in anyway, but that's often how many with autism present.
A lack of social niceties ie it's tough for people as social cues aren't able to be recognised.
And many try and fit in, by learned behaviour ie copying what they think is required.
Also, he could well be high functioning aspergers, ie he clearly has high intelligence, but his manner of communication is intense, different and very matter of fact.
It's a tough condition to live with, as people can misunderstand those with it, and clearly there can be a massive variation in where people are considered to be on the spectrum.
Obviously some have it more severely, did work in a home with non verbal autistic, which is so so tough, but have known others that do work in accounts, IT and publishing and live a fairly normal life.
He could not be obviously. But his performance at the fans forum suggested a detached and different way of communicating with less awareness of how people are viewing himself. And although this communication suggests this, it could be just an AI print out basically also.
And again, if he has had some input into the analysis of data, again another possible trait that an autistic person may adapt too.
And then the 11 years experience quote suggests a lack of social awareness too. Ie at 26, most people are aware that's complete BS, but his own personal lack of awareness may be explained that he again is not aware of this everyday social cue.
Wasn't saying at all that he is 100% autistic but there a lot of aspects of how he comes across, the way he can communicate in a staccato manner, and learned responses, and at same time clearly having intelligence.
Just said it was autistic in nature...
I hope your family members Stainrod, are able to live their best life and get the support they need. It's a tough condition to live with no doubt.
A friend of mine follows Gary Numan who is diagnosed Aspergers and the rituals he has to go through to get on stage, is very impressive that he manages to perform.
Oh and my comment about him reading loftforwords and changing his ideas was just my own flippant attempts at humour. Wasn't suggesting it was true !! |  |
