If he requires rest and not surgery, doesn’t that mean it’s not a “tear”? Maybe he’ll be back sooner than 3 months?

Plantar Fascia injury probably take a couple of months to improve, but as a fit footballer could be quicker. Had this type of injury a couple of years back playing walking football, had to do physio for a while building up with stretches, icing the heel and predominantly improving calf muscle strength to take the strain so to speak.

Suffered from plantar fasciitis last year. It’s all about rest and stretching the tendon as much as you can, by stretching the big toe. Also using a tennis ball under the foot. It is bloody painful and there really is no timescale to it.

I think for the time being now it will be Morrison and JCS, if fit. Seeing Morrison as Cools long term successor it will be interesting to see him play alongside JCS. Cook is a good organiser and always the senior person in the back four. Wonder if JCS has the organisational side to his game. Morrison and JCS both good on the ball and distribution a part of their play. Might help with our build up play with a natural left and right combination who can play those progressive passes into midfield

This next two months will be interesting. I guess the intention was always that Morrison takes over from Cook from next season or soon after. This will be a good test.

thats a lot better than I expected

I had planta fasciitis. Took the best part.of a year to recover, with weekly physio sessions. I think Cook is half my age and will get more than that, but recovery could be drawn out

Most people suffer this, takes a long time to bugger off but I guess with 24/7 private treatment, it will probably heal 100 times faster than someone who has to rely on a one time appointment with the GP, telling them to roll as tennis ball under your foot.

Incidentally, is it worth noting more evidence of improved communications from the club. Maybe someone is really listening!

Very welcome.

And doesn't appeared to have resulted in any loss in "competitive advantage" either.

In fact, a much more 'all in it together', backs-to-the-wall, collective response. Fans more onside. Three home wins in a row. Atmosphere fantastic.

Who would have thought?

Hopefully it continues. Maybe it shows that with certain tbjngs certain people at the club willing to acknowledge that with particular things, there are better ways of doing things. A good thing if more people being more 'humble' rather than just Marti and the team

It’s a good thing. I haven’t a clue what’s going on at Rangers, but fair play on the attitude shift. They’re not national secrets, are they.

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

Good news, it seems. Certainly better than it looked.

Asked a physio friend of mine, and he looked at the QPR statement. If it's a tear of the plantar fascia it could be months, apparently, but if it's plantar fasciatis (a heel spur) it could be anything from 0 to 6 months.

Hope that's accurate. It's not an injury I know much about, thankfully.

Good news that the club are telling us as well.
Fair play.

I too had PF. I bought a little roller from Amazon. I rolled it under both feet while listening to high tempo music.
Very encouraging results but mine was probably fairly mild.

This doesn’t sound like plantar fasciitis, but rather damage to the planter fascia.I’ve had PF a couple of times and it’s generally an irritating painful feeling in the foot, especially first thing in the morning. I had various physio, innersoles and roller balls etc and it got better over time. A niggly injury a bit like tennis elbow. Cook went down like he’d been shot and I initially assumed he’d torn his achilles or calf. Presumably he’s strained the planter facia, as they said no tear, and that will take a bit of time to heal but doesn’t sound like a chronic issue like planter fasciitis is

Planta Faciists is actually named after a Latin right wing gardener who trod on a garden rake

I got planta fascit playing football on a rock hard pitch in Greece, banking my foot down too hard. Had to wear a special protective insert for a year or so after it happened. If Cook has this I'd expect him to be out a long time .

Lets hope it's a swift recovery.
I strained that bit once I wondered what it was, never heard of it before was painfull for a few weeks.

Planta Fasciitis sounds like someone who should be MC'ing for Scrubuis Pip
