Very probably the new Alan McDonald. Tell me I’m wrong?

No offence to the OP, but he is nowhere near the great AM. A top 5 player of all time for QPR IMO.
Dunne is a very good Championship right back and I hope we extend his contract soon.

Smells like a trout farm in here

The commentator doing the North American feed was practically wetting himself over JD from kick off. He's surely got to be on bigger clubs' radar.

Alan McDonald's QPR career lasted 15 years and he made nearly 500 apperances.
Only 2 players in the entire history of our club have played more.

Nobody loves Jimmy Dunne more than me but he has been here 3 and a bit years, played about 130 times.
He is clearly a lovely bloke who cares about our club, and he is the heart of our team.
But he's not the new Macca.

Not sure about that for the reasons already stated.

Macca played in the top division for the vast majority of his career, captained his country many times and played at a World Cup.
Dunne has some way to go yet.
However, club legends come in various guises. Cook, Bircham, Padula etc became club legends playing some of their football in the 3rd tier. Zamora was by and large mediocre but scored ‘that’ goal.

If Jimmy is still here in 3 or 4 years time and playing well then he’ll be in that ‘legend’ bracket for sure.
What’s more important right now is that he clearly loves being a QPR player and loves the club.
As I said elsewhere it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s signed a new contract already . We won’t know about it due to the CEO’s games, but he is playing with freedom and confidence .
I just hope he carries on doing what he’s doing as he’s fast becoming one of the most important players in the team , if not ‘the’ most important as he’s Nardi’s only bloody out ball for a start .
