Made a goal, hit the bar, and nearly (probably should have) scored another. Won us a raft of free kicks. Never stopped.

If that infuriates you, you make me look like the friggin' Buddha!

Running the ball off the pitch due to lack of control is infuriating, especially when chasing a winner.

I genuinely don’t see how. I’m just trying to be measured

Shit but local

Smudge was my MotM. He was immense yesterday.

Scooters, Tunes, Trainers and QPR.

I'm a little surprised we are still debating this. The guy has been under more scrutiny than Donald Trump.

In an age of the inverted wide forward whose no.1 & 2 priority is cut inside and shoot, its refreshing to see an old-skool type player just get his head down and charge down the line. Or, as Nourry may put it, 'strong diversity of the player portfolio.'.

Sometimes straight out of play, sometimes hitting the first man but often he's a great outlet on the counter and constant menace to the opposition, giving his all every time.

And when he did cut inside onto his left foot, that piledriver that hit the bar was something else. Who knew? Well played Smyth.

I hold my hand up as one of Smyth's detractors. We all know what his weaknesses are but, if the last few games are anything to go by, he's beginning to improve his final ball.

He's a great character, a willing runner and a very useful weapon against most defences at this level. Once Dembele returns he'll see fewer starts but will always be given a place on the bench and more often than not get minutes.

No doubt he's been a frustrating player, but I just checked his stats and he's up to 65 Champ appearances since he returned, so he's now in that zone where the playing experience is really starting to benefit his game.

He and Kolli were causing Preston a lot of problems with their pace, movement and direct play. I was a little surprised Kolli went off when he did, but I guess a combination of his having been ill and needing to get minutes in for Frey.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

A pleasing side to all this is that when he left us for Orient I felt that he was yet another apparently bright spark who hadn't made it. There's too bloody many of them, they get a few sub appearances and look bright, maybe get a goal, then disappoint when they get starts. They then go through the "needs a loan" period before hitting "League 1 at best, mate, get rid".

So was quite pleased to see him get a second chance and delighted to see the improvement he's made this season.

Interesting that simultaneously Kolli has so rapidly progressed from the jury being out on whether he's even a Championship player at all, to being focus of the attack. The two of them seem to work well together.

There is 1 poster on this thread that has been unrelenting all season with his attacks on Smyth like he offended him personally and its way OTT.
Now PS is not only one of the first names on the starting 11 (very durable player despite all the knocks ) he is starting to dominate and make way better choices in the danger areas.
Cutting inside to his left and shooting used to mean danger to fans in the top row of the stand but he nearly scored a stunner yesterday and had another 1 close one last game
Also he was right there to hammer home that rebound which would have been the winner except for the keeper and goaline tech denied us.
He has some engine fair play to him and its vital he stays injury free
